The problem with these shows is that its proven that these shows are set up to be exciting and to keep u drawn in , so in other words the gold is planted in most cases, just to keep you the viewer coming back.

I was at the palmer while they were there filming and there is gold everywhere there although it is tough terrain and is has been worked thoroughly. these 2 the majority of time get access to areas and leases were the average person is not allowed. so I doubt it's fake but they definitely have an big advantage over the average person of the street.
