Jacques Stotzem is a Belgian acoustic guitarist. He has recorded 3 vinyl albums and 10 CDs, and collaborated with numerous musical projects and artists. In the acoustic guitar world today, Jacques Stotzem is one of the “fingerstyle” guitarists with the most diversified style.
In this video, he is playing his own songs with the all new Martin SC-28E (Dialogue, Don't miss the train, Gipsy cowboy, Sur Vesdre, Twenty-One).
The all-new SC-28E pairs technology with timeless style and tone, combining SC innovation and Standard Series appointments. Its patented features include a Sure Align neck system that helps you play all the way up the neck, while the low-profile velocity satin neck barrel fits comfortably in your hand, and an internal soundboard recurve for added bass response. The gloss SC-28E features a spruce top with resonant East Indian rosewood back and sides, giving you deep bass and rich overtones for that classic Martin sound. It also features an ebony fingerboard and bridge, antique white binding, nickel open gear tuners, Fishman Aura VT Blend or LR Baggs Anthem electronics, and is strung with LUXE BY MARTIN Kovar strings. The SC-28E comes with a molded hardshell case.

Thanks for your comment ! Yes it is an SC28E, on the video, I just have ebony bridge pins that I put on the guitar

I just wondered if the back and sides are solid Indian Rosewood? Sounds good though.

Hi Michael! Yes, back and sides of this SC-28E are solid Rosewood. On the SC-18E they are solid Mahogany.

I have been waiting for Martin to make a version of this guitar with solid tone woods. I like the innovations in the body design. But it's more expensive than a OM-28. Does it sound better than an OM-28?

Hi @@donaldklein8694, It sounds different because it's a completely different bodyshape. Sounding better is a 'personal understanding'. The best thing to do is go to your local music store and try the OM-28 next to the SC-28E, so you can hear the difference for your self! 🙂

@@donaldklein8694 I played for many years my OM signature model and the new SC28E sounds of course different as the body shape is different, but I really love the way the SC28 sounds, to me it sounds more open compared to the OM, somewhere between OM and M model. The feel of the new neck (low profile velocity) is really incredible, I never have had a guitar that is so easy to play and the access to the register is so great !
Is this guitar straight out of the box from the Martin factory?

More or less, we didn't change the action or intonation or anything on the guitar. Jacques plays with a lighter string gauge, the only thing we did was change the strings for a lighter gauge.
