[Verse 1] The time has come for me to tell you All  the things I really feel about you 'Cause  lately time's been moving on And every day we seem to grow a little older, too The more I think of you the less I seem To  know the way I feel about you And  all I think is all I know And all I know is all I want to think about is you [Verse 2] I  used to think I knew it all And that the love you gave was mine for keeping I guess I cared too much for you back then To see the simple magic of it all I  long to see the things we saw When we were young and could not see so clearly When all the world was just a blur of coloured lines That I'd trace most sincerely back to you [Pre-Chorus] And you'd say [Chorus] "Time to rest your weary head Take your wings and go to bed I know you want to know it all, my darling" And I'd say "Set me down and rock me Rock me to sleep" [Verse 3] I see the sparkle in your eyes You say I'm beautiful and I believe you And I will never feel more beautiful Than when I'm wide awake beside you I'll wander far and wide and wonder How it feels to fall in love with someone Without the need to show her everything I've learnt About the world since you've been gone [Pre-Chorus] And you'd say [Chorus] "Time to rest your weary head Take your wings and go to bed I know you want to show it all, my darling" And I'd say "Set me down and rock me Rock me to sleep" [Verse 4] There was a time it seemed the time itself Was free and would go on forever Wanted to cling to it but now I see Its fading is its greatest treasure, ooh [Pre-Chorus] And you would say [Chorus] "Time to rest my weary head Take my wings and go to bed I know you want to feel it all, my darling" And I'd say "Sit me down and rock me, oh Sit me down and rock me, oh darling Sit me down and rock me Rock me to sleep"

He mentioned the concept in a show. The concept is Djesse symbolises a certain space (a little like the universe if you’re into science). Volume 1 is this vast open space with large sounds and broad orchestral music. Volume 2 is where this space shrinks down into a smaller volume, and by doing this heats up a little, and everything becomes cozier and more tranquil for Volume 2. The space continues shrinking until it’s compressed into a single point of everything packed together madly. That’s where Volume 3 is found. I’m pretty sure Jacob said something along the lines of “it gets real crazy in there”. Finally, Volume 4 is a grand re-expansion of this space, growing out again, and I expect it’ll be a slight reflection on the past 3 volumes also. Hope this helped, apologies if I’ve got anything wrong!

For my money, the most important influence behind this stunning masterpiece is the work of Joni Mitchell. The special guitar tuning. The vulnerable confessionality, new for Jacob. The craft. There are probably many ways to take this lyric, but for me the key is in the chorus, sung by and to a person who truly, really sees you, sees that those wings need rest and comfort from the effort of wanting to feel, to know, it all. That sounds like the Jacob I hear when I listen to his music.

Me and someone I cared for very deeply parted ways about a month ago. It’s made me very unsure of what the future holds or if I’ll even have a future worth living. You become so connected to the person you love that not having them around can make you feel lost, like the only thing you cared about is gone. This song makes me rethink that train of thought, because in it’s helplessness and tragedy, it’s unmistakably beautiful. With a sunset there must be a sunrise, when night comes it means day is right around the corner, although it may be dark now the light will soon come. There is always hope no matter how hopeless you feel. Whether you’ve lost somebody, been through a breakup, or just feel lost, there will always come a day when you feel better.

This is old but I'm sorry for your loss.. I still grieve my beloved cat Quinn of 8 years since he passed in early February. I listened to this song just after and so it always makes me think of him. I remember just the day before I had picked him up and placed him on my chest with his head under my chin and he fell asleep on me. I didn't know he would be gone forever the next day. I was so obsessed with him and he was all I'd talk about every day 😭 I buried him as well, and I like to play this song looking at his burial, which is under the tree he used to hide under. Part of me wishes I wasn't there when he was put down, but I felt like I needed to be there with him to the very end.

This year, in April, someone I fell in love with loved me too, for the first time in my life. While we chatted, I usually listened to this song. It made me feel so much along with how we talked. So pretty. Albeit being young (19 yo), it was the happiest I've been in my life. Sadly, it ended not much later, and now I cannot listen to it, because it takes me back to that moment, and makes me think of it and think and feel the loss of not having it anymore. I wish, I truly wish, I will be able to listen to it again, with another girl that decides to love me. I don't know when that's gonna be, but i know that when it happens, this song is gonna be played a lot on my phone.

The more I think of you the less I seem . To  know the way I feel about you . And  all I think is all I know . And all I know is all I want to think about is you . [Verse 2] I  used to think I knew it all , And that the love you gave was mine for keeping . i guess i cared too much for you back then . To see the simple magic of it all . I  long to see the things we saw When we were young and could not see so clearly When all the world was just a blur of colored lines that I'd trace most sincerely back to you . [Pre-Chorus] And you'd say , [Chorus] Time to rest your weary head . Take your wings and go to bed I know. You want to know it all, my darling. And I'd say , "Set me down and rock me , Rock me to sleep." [Verse 3] I see the sparkle in your eyes you say I'm beautiful and I believe you . And I will never feel more beautiful , Than when I'm wide awake beside you. I'll wander far and wide and wonder how it feels to fall in love with someone . Without the need to show her everything I've learnt . And I'd say , "Set me down and rock me, rock me to sleep." [Verse 4] There was a time it seemed the time itself Was free and would go on forever . Wanted to cling to it but, now I see . Its fading is its greatest treasure. Ooh [Pre-Chorus] And you would say , [Chorus] "Time to rest my weary head Take my wings and go to bed I know you want to feel it all, my darling" And I'd say "Sit me down and rock me, Oh . THE STORY OF HOW JACOB COLLIER SAVED EARTH WITH JAZZ. I live on the same Earth, the very same planet, at the very same time as Jacob Collier. Its like being a contemporary with Jesus Christ or Moses, or Siddhartha Buddha or Mozart, Tchaikovsky, or Chopin. Im so fortunate in this LIFE to have heard his voice. Like a god, his voice is strong. With it he speaks and around the world he is heard clearly. His voice is soothing to a once healthy society. His tones are unique and his message is that of kindness and discordant harmony. Jacob Collier is the Eurasian god of sound, music and the Master of the Instruments in The Hall of The Mighty wherein meets The Council of Twelve. These gods meet there whenever they are or aren't PLEASED with our behavior. Human nature dictates that we find being cheeky irresistible. But the multitude of evil, wicked men angered the gods. So, there it was decided in an eleven to one vote, to cast our little world hurling into the Sun destroying all life, the wicked as well as forthright majority. The transgressions of a few men would be atoned by the destruction of all innocent life. Jacob's only vote of dissent among the gods angered them. So there, as quick as a bolt of lightning, Jacob invented a new sound. A new and different way to use the notes and sounds of the instruments. Jacob loved the little human beings. He was utterly distraught at the thought of losing all of them. Over come with despair, He discovered in his heart a new kind of music that celebrated the diversity of sound and its discord and syncopated rythms that were a direct reflection of man and his vast differences. Even though it stood solid in contrast to the harp music of the shepherds in the field, which was the favourite music of the other gods, Jacob's new creation was a reflection of chaotic mind set of humans living in modern mega cities like London and New York... the blaring sound of many car horns clashing and Jack hammers blaring and blasting seemingly with no order to it. Jacob began to play the instruments, first one, the drums which would set the mood, then another, the.deep strings of the Bass followed by the guitar, the flute, the sax and his piano. Upon hearing this heavenly music , the gods began to snap their fingers and pat their feet to this new form of magic. WHAT MANNER MESMERIZING MUSICAL MADNESS HAVE YOU CAST UPON US ALL?. WE SHALL ALL PARISH FROM SHEER DELIGHT UNDER ITS HYPNOTIC SPELL. WHAT IS THIS TANGLED MIRACLE OF MUSIC YOU PLAY BEFORE US? Jacob thinking quickly replied, "O Great ONE, this is from the inhabitants of Earth whom you shall wipe away with one whim you find winsome. This is the sound of man becoming more godlike, more complex as their world around them becomes even more complex and confusing. They call it JAZZ! It is the sum of all their problems answered. It is the product of the imagination of man not to solve every problem at once but cope with it until the problem can be resolved. This JAZZ is their gift to the very gods who would murder them. In hearing Jacob's words, the gods cried out with great remorse for what they almost did. The gods reversed their edict to annihilate mankind. In a very secret and sacred event Jacob gave to humanity the ceremony of THE Granting of the JAZZ to all Mankind. THE other gods were content in thinking that JAZZ was a gift to them by man, their all time favourite creation, The world was safe again. This is how Jacob Collier saved the Earth and all of mankind with JAZZ.

It's amazing to see someone can soothe you with music and make you realize you're not alone with your emotions. It's an honor to be able to see the many forms of art created by this incredibly talented yet humble man. Lots of love to Jacob

After listening to the lyrics carefully, it sounds like the song is written about his Mother or Grandmother. Initially I thought it was about a girlfriend or something, but the more I considered the lyrics, particularly the chorus, the less I thought it was. As impressive as his bombastic techno wizard stuff is (and it is) I'm very glad to hear him open things up and let some space in his music. Beautiful song.
