Great set of really challenging songs in the messiness of a windy stage. Those guys smashed it.

It was a great experience seeing him live. He was so energetic and it was contagious. The crowd definitely enjoyed vibing to this set

I think the Djesse 3 super-highly produced tracks must be *really* hard to do live. Have been wondering for a while how he would handle that. To my ear there were some hits and misses here. In his defense, they only had three days to rehearse; so pretty amazing considering... just imagine trying to keep up with this dude ;-)

@Con Creffect well if you are interested in my opinion, these first performances with his new band really arnt very impressing. I think many of the vol. 3 songs really aren't working live well (at least when he tries to imitate the studio version). He has some pitch issues, but that is ofcourse only in this performance. The whole chemistry between him Jacob and the new singers really isnt working up to this point. But i am hopeful that he will use the time from today to the real beginning of the tour to really work on some things once more

@@semanticscribe i think the djesse 3 songs dont work live without heavy use of backing track (wich isnt a bad thing) when he wants to do them like on the record. He had this appereance on CBS where he performed In too deep and All I need in pure acoustic versions which work great live. Also He Wont Hold You works great the way it is here. So maybe he should do some more edited versionsof vol. 3 songs and leave the studio version be the studio version.

@@silver1788 Yeah, I think you have some valid points. Let's not forget that he's been cooped up for a while now and probably needs to stretch his live performance muscles again. I do think that the Vol 3 stuff would benefit from a more fundamental reimagining for this context. The best stuff I thought were the more grounded numbers like "Feel" that lend themselves more to just playing in front of an audience.

I love everything Jacob. That said, I see these live videos and I get a feeling that they would be more powerful if he gave more protagonism to that super amazing team of genius ladies especially in the singing lines and he did (his crazy good) primarily backing vocals + all of his crazy instruments performance of course. I do have to say that the sound of the video is not great so that is based on what I hear here.

One of the singers was constantly off and as a veteran Jacobean I suffer from perfection OCD 🥺.. xD

More than one, but not constantly i think. It's just much harder to sing perfectly live, and with these unprocessed it'll really show the flaws
