One of the things I love about this is that they come on in pretty ordinary clothes and hairstyles and whatever. They come on to be what they truly are - musicians. I think this is why people like John and Tori LOVE working with Jacob, because he brings out the musician above being a star. They can be what they love being most. And the result is something extraordinary.

That is what I think as well. I have loved John’s music since he came out, and to me he sounds incredible singing “Bridge..”. In fact, his live is even better than the recorded version. Ditto for Tori. Jacob has a divine ability to tap into the best musicianship of the artists who are able to recognize him for what he is. A modern day Mozart. I invariably keep flashing to the movie Amadeus. Mozart being told by the Emperor, “ too many notes”, and Mozart responding, “as many as necessary “…

I actually got the opportunity to be there, I went straight there from Vegas (it was a 7 hour drive). In my head on the way there, I was like wouldn't it be crazy if Tory Kelly were to actually show up. I had no idea what they had in store, and when John Legend and Tori Kelly showed up I totally freaked out! This was hands down the best experience of my life! I will be forever grateful that I got to experience this live!

Awesome reaction! I was at the concert and it was a really moving experience. I see 125+ concerts a year and this was one of the most magical musical performances I’ve ever witnessed. I was in complete awe while it was happening and a little lost when it ended.

Chills, 😭 and even muscle twitches the whole time!!!

Vocoders have been around for many years. It plays the sounds of a synth, but it is shaped by the sound of the vocal fed into it. I have used these since the 70s. Mr Blue Sky uses one, famously. With Jacob you are hearing the vocoder plus some of the live version. And yes, there have been VST plugins around for some years. But the original vocoder was invented in the 1930s! It is wonderful to be given such a lift here.
