The surest sign that we are in a post-genre era is when the lead guitarist and the HEART of Fearless Flyers and Vulfpeck, was nominated for a new age album.

Oh my he is just getting started! I can’t wait for what he will show us after Djesse.
Bro around 28 minutes they both just start making sounds and I find it hilarious. Definitely what Kimbra meant when she said their energy is the same
This simple conversation is a goldmine of ideas. Thanks!
one of the deepest conversations i have ever heard on musical identity. bravo.

Having eras in your career takes time. I took the journey with Rush from 1976 until that last Toronto show in 2015 and I was sad it was over, but I was also looking for someone new to share a different journey with. It took a nanosecond to know that Jacob was the guy who’s journey was worth my energy to invest in. The depth to which he’s given all of us access to that journey is unprecedented and appreciated beyond words. Let the music lead you, Jacob. I may not adore all of it , Hell I might not even make it all the way to the end this time, but I’ll be waiting and watching to give it all a try.

Wow this hit hard! I've always been a very selective listener, and this certainly describes my experience, for me right now it's John Martyn, obviously won't get to see him live. I'm excited now to see who will be next!
Jacob mentioning Deerhoof. Oh man. He summed up a big part of why i fell in love with them 10 years ago. i never saw it like that
Beautiful interview, thank you!

You must be in the top of the game to even be nominated for a Grammy. Congratulations and good luck.... both of you.

Wow, that was a masterclass, have to listen to it over and over again
I don’t think I’ve ever drawn any more understanding of music from a single conversation or lesson

I'd love to see a collab type thing with you & collier ... think about something like Mark Ronson's Version album with Collier producing... maybe bring in that scary pockets network of talent to do some weird/funky covers
