I see a lot of SU fans wanting to play this off…listen, this battle came down to SONG SELECTION and SU had ZERO answers to what the Boom threw at them and produced a sound SU can’t compete with! SU doesn’t get swept in battles, but they got dusted…what’s worse is the Jukebox got exposed for letting go one of if not the best arrangers in Simmons who knew how to compose for them! SU better get it together though because the Boom ain’t going no where no time soon…we out for blood!!! Great job on the footage!! 💪🏽🔥

I always have said arrangers hurt the kids when they write a piece. Some pieces are not worthy of a 5th quarter. They have all the tools , but the arrangers are not battle ready.

In addition, not either of the band's members were born at the time of the song, to know the song... When it was played in the footage I immediately knew the song at opening... That arrangement is solidified in musical details, as to the original studio recording... JSUs SBOTS chief music arranger, Prof. Kevan Johnson, brings enlightenment to Gen Z... ❤ love love love this footage of the bands. All on the same side playing to the audience across the field. We can hear everything and audience participation. All 5th Quarters should be like this IMO. Nobody walking in front of your cameras, so refreshing to watch. Heck I feel as though I was there. Yes congratulations to you .... ❤

SU had all those tubas, and JSU had less, but could hear them better. That didn't sound like SU. It sounded more like the summer camp band.

JSU has always delivered from that corner in Mumford... However, SU switched the corner for visiting bands, to the opposite end... All do to them thinking they control the visiting band's projection. SU totally got ATE UP, in their own house... PERIOD!!!!

Only section from southern that is traveling is the baritones . Every other section sounds bad and needs better tone and air support . For jsu the tone is clear . You can play loud all you want but if it doesn’t travel , it’s not loud at a distance

JSU band musicality is unmatched. Southern is just loud, that's it. The arrangements that JSU play are Ph.D level and Southern arrangements are high school level at best. Yes I play treble clef and bass clef instruments and I understand the difficulty of playing the notes and arrangements. IMHO

Tbh I am a big Su and jsu band fan without a doubt I have my good and bad for both bands any who I remember I saw a video when Su had Nate as director I forgot what school they was battling but Su played a 🔥 azz song I mean from start to finish all you heard was woooo damn dammmmn etc the arrangement and power was crazy and end was an outer body experience so it was the next school turned and they played a gospel song l think it goes like Jesus will take care of me all I have to do is live right repeat a few times and believe in what he saiiiidddd etc anyway everybody laugh at them and was clowning them because they didn’t have a better comeback after Su So now jsu plays make me wet make me hotter killed that and Su comes with stir up the gift 😅 man see it can come back and bite hard smh they at least could’ve played Kirk Franklin smile or take me to the king or sumin else besides stir up the gift jsu definitely got in us ass you can’t be big dog forever frfr it’s jsu time to shine but Su will make a very big and strong come back watch once they get a great director because they lost 3/4 in a row after jackson retired the Nate then Simmons and I’m missing one more but once they get a legendary director again they’ll come back
