    I still feel the standard Jackson pickups sound much more ballsy than the Ibanez standard pickups. I replaced mine, but there is a something in the jackson pickups that has that edge and sharpness that fits wel with metal music, which the Ibanez with these standard picks lacks.

    I have the jackson and for some reason it’s probably my favorite to play. The neck just feels great in my hands.. I have a esp ltd ec1000 that I also love but I go back to the jackson for anything standard tuning. One bit of note the stock jackson bridge pickup sounds almost identical to a duncan JB barley noticed a difference when I swapped to a JB so I swapped back and looking at going with a black winter or a duncan distortion pickup for a bit more clarity

    Hey man. This is a great comparison!! So it seems you are getting along nicely with the GT1. I'm so glad!! One thing I don't care for i never mentioned is the presets sometimes are overkill with their modulations depending on the guitar as im sure you noticed. Like the One that models (Hendrix) called Haze or or whatever the flanger or wah or something is a mess of noise. Hahahah. You have picked the good ones here I think to gage the guitar tones! If you've dug into the amp models yet, you'll love it I am sure. I love the match drive and JC 120. Hell I love most of them. Heheheh. Peace man! Great review!! Making me want a Jackson. Very interesting. I would have to agree that the Ibanez sounds terrible compared to the Jackson. I just tried a bunch of guitars today at Guitar Center, and I think the Jackson had the best sound through a Blackstar amp over even the $4400 Ibanez glass and PRS, Ernie Ball. nothing sounded as good. The only way I really know that the Jackson is lower priced is it is a tad harder to play than most of the higher end guitars.

    @Jeymez

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@KadenSlam Gio is entry level, but RG is a separate series. although these days you can find a few RG names floating around the Gio range, but there not the real thing. the Ibanez ranking system has always been a mystery to people, but traditionally atleast before 2010, it goes Ibanez Gio range, which at the time they didn't make too many budget guitars, but the ones they did only said Gio. some of them didn't even have the Ibanez name on it. the main series started with the RG Standard range, that's kinda like there mid range similar to Fender's Made in Mexico line, then above that is the RG Premium range. those are the ones that are most often played by popular bands such as Slipknot and Korn. that's the way the series kinda went for a long time, but as time went on Ibanez started introducing other series. Steve Vai's Jem series came along, although they been around even before that, but they were seen as Ibanez Custom range, but later on they started making affordable versions. another range they added in the last 5 years is the Prestige series, then there's the AZ series, S series, they were really slim. the newest series is the AZES, but you get the point. getting back to it, the name RG used to mean higher quality, and they still are, but in recent years the RG Standard range isn't what it used to be. there still solid guitars, but as far as the RG compared in the video, it could be a lower range RG. Jackson has the Dinky series, but they do have different Dinky's. there's a JS22 which is like 200 bucks, but there's also the JS32 that has the same pickups, but with a few upgrades. locking tuners, upgraded trem system, better wood and slightly better feel. id imagine the RG in the video is probably closely related to the JS32, even though he said the Ibanez is priced a little higher, but there are alot more RG models to chose from than the Jackson Dinky series.

    I would say get one, or the js12 if you want 24 frets. For the money the js11 is a fun guitar. Thinking about getting the red one myself. The tuners leave a little to be desired, just put some inexpensive locking tuners on it. If you are wanting to do big whammy bar tricks, this really isn't the guitar for that. The plastic nut and tremolo system are ok, and I actually like the pickups.

  • @ryant3600

    I sorta have both of these guitars, I have the Jackson Soloist (neck through) and the Rg570 Genesis. The Jackson comes w/ the Floyd Rose 1000 series and Seymour Duncan distortions. The Ibanez has the Edge Tremolo and comes w/ Ibanez V series pickups. I did put a set of Seymour Duncan TB6's in my Ibanez. I'll say this after doing that w/ the Ibanez.. I really don't play the Jackson at all. Matter of fact I kinda regret I even bought it. I mean it looks great its the Caribbean Blue quilted maple top, but it doesn't feel nearly as good to me. The Ibanez neck just feels perfect. The Edge I still believe is the best Tremolo system ever invented. It's tight, perfect, flutters all day long, goes back to true when dive bombing, never loses tuning. The Jackson goes out of tune often when dive bombing, and i hate the screw in trem arms. ( I know I can get a push in arm for it, but I haven't done that yet). I think the Jackson looks great to me that's the only thing that comes close beating the Ibanez Rg 570 in jewel blue. But the Ibanez feels amazing, sounds amazing, the playability etc to me is far superior than the Jackson. If I could trade the Jackson for another Ibanez Genesis I would in a heartbeat.. But I would never trade the Ibanez Genesis for the Jackson if that tells ya something.

    @@benpowersguitar Those aren't from the lower range end. Japanese built Ibanez RGs are the Prestige/J series end, and the Jackson Indo built Soloist was over a grand. The low end would be the 200-500 price Gio's and Jacksons, the mid range I consider 500-1000 USD. You have a few higher midrange or lower high end like the Premiums for Ibanez. But the Genesis was built to keep the price as close to the original price from the late 80's. They wanted to try to keep everything as close to the original as possible.

    The Jackson is Licensed by Floyd Rose, not built by. The quality of a Licensed by trems varies greatly. The one on the Jackson is very usuable, but not as good as a Floyd Rose Special (their cheap model). The Ibanez from what I understand is a proprietary model, not a FR or Licensed by. Either way, it compares very closely to the FR Special, which I have on my Schecter. The FR Special has just a little smoother fine tuners over the Ibanez, but that's it. It holds tune just as well as the FR Special. I did a month long side by side with all 3 of them. Also, the price of the Jackson has gone up $70 since I made this video. It's now $369.99. The Ibanez RG450EXB is still $400 (not always avail, currently they are). At a $30 price difference, I would say the Ibanez is the better guitar for the money. Though the Jackson has a compound radius, which some people really like.

    Jackson all the way. I own an Ibanez 7 string also. I just find that no matter what I do the Ibanez always sounds dead and flat. Just my preference. Personally il never buy another Ibanez. Schecter, esp, Jackson. Those are my personal favorites.

    I love them, but would say try several different brands in you price range. See how they feel on your lap, how the neck feels in you hand. They really do make an excellent guitar, even their inexpensive lines.

    I HIGHLY recommend getting a cheaper guitar for your "first" guitar, Ibanez RG's have an extremely peculiar feel to them, for a "first" guitar if you want an Ibanez, get one of the Ibanez Gio guitars, they are all under 200 bucks, they come in many different colors and shapes, and their design is not as peculiar as an actual Ibanez RG guitar, yet they look identical. here is a link to three different Ibanez Gios www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GRX70QATBB--ibanez-gio-series-grx70qa-transparent-blue-burst www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GRG121DXMGS--ibanez-gio-series-grg121dx-metallic-gray-sunburst www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GRX20ZBKN--ibanez-gio-series-grx20z-black-night Thank you, and your welcome.

    Only thing good on the ibanes is the neck and keep it around for a backup, also the Floyd sits lower or something and has less performance than the Jackson and all pickups need replaced on both of course, also ibanes has a lot less tone a more dead tone,the Jackson is far more superior all around
