    Unlike other forced child sidekicks, Jade actually WAS useful and actually saved Jackie on several occasions. She was a fun character who earned her place without taking much away from the show.

    It really was the best celebrity cartoon for kids. AND ONE MORE THING- I had no idea his character wasn't voiced by him. Though now that I think back on it, I don't know why I didn't notice the difference when they asked live action Jackie Chan.

    Jovana Sanchez yeah Showdown at least made sure that the heroes didn’t win every time. They did lose the games a few times for good reasons. Like Kimiko losing the monkey staff to further her character development. Or Raimundo to also do the same for him. Plus the season finale was pretty shocking even as a kid.

    Aw, man. I can't believe I forgot about this show. I used to watch the reruns that Cartoon Network showed all the time. I remember constantly saying, "Bad day, bad day, bad day" whenever an adventure outdoors would become intense and dangerous. Like many children in the 2000's, this was my gateway into Jackie Chan, and now I have all of his movies that I can get my hands on. I'll have to revisit this show someday.

It doesn't really effect the standing of either show just a show of camaraderie between the cartoons (and an attempt to get people watching both shows when they only watched either).

    To my parents dismay, when I was little I always pretended to be Jade (or at least acted like her). Whenever they told me one thing, I would do the other, and I would only respond to the name Jade. I think that's why my parents told my grandparents never to let me watch Jackie Chan when they babysat me. (But they always fell asleep, so I won that battle).

    I miss Kids WB so much. Pokemon, yugioh, jackie chan adventures, animaniacs, What's New Scooby Doo, the list goes on and on. It was the Saturday morning network to go to for me after Disney's One Saturday Morning Block became meh. It started going downhill, for me at least, after pokemon left for CN. After that Kids WB never really recovered and didn't really have a big show like pokemon again. Plus there were super ehhhhhhhhhhh shows like..........Shaggy and Scooby Doo get a clue.................. *Shudders*

    I will always remember Jackie Chan Adventures as one of the best parts of my childhood, I would wake up at 7:00 using nothing but sheer will to get myself up and to watch it, the talismans were amazing, I loved how it always found new inventive ways to use the talismans and I loved how Uncle had "one more thing" to say. I loved Jade being a rambunctious genius and I loved Jackie just being dragged along for the ride. They don't make shows like this anymore, If you guys need me I'll be shedding some silent tears of joy while looking back on all the memories.

    Pretty awesome coincidence seeing this review, because lately I've been feeling really nostalgic for this show. Might marathon a season or two sometime soon. This show had a lot of charm to it and was a great combination of action and humor, and as Pan said it's one of the few shows where the "plucky young sidekick" character actually wasn't as annoying as you'd expect. Kids WB had a pretty awesome lineup back in the day, shame it ended because Saturday morning cartoons in general fell out of popularity in the later half of the 00s (by that point in time, most of us who grew up on Saturday morning cartoons weren't willing to wake up at 7 AM on weekends anymore due to either school or work, and I keep hearing kids nowadays also don't really wanna get up super early on Saturdays either, which is why a lot of cartoon premieres are on weekdays instead).

  • @yaminogame
    @yaminogame9 жыл бұрын

    Oh man I used to love this show. Hell being a kid 15+ years ago on the weekend was awesome. You had both Saturday Fox Kids and Sunday Kids WB morning cartoons. And both had a great line up of shows. I'm just glad you didn't have to choose between the two. If both were on Saturday I would have to set the VCR to record one of them.

    Fun fact: Hulk Hogan's cartoon theme song was actually an instrumental version of the song "Ravishing," written by Jim Steinman (of "Bat Out of Hell," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "Holding Out for a Hero" fame) and sung by Bonnie Tyler. Ironically, the cartoon premiered before the album the original full song was on came out. Look it up on here, I'm sure you can find it.

    Then there was that cartoon on Nickelodeon that was made by Gene Simmons. I thought that was a really interesting celebrity cartoon because the character meant to represent him was just a small part of the show. He was present in almost every episode but he was there as a supporting character. The main character? His son who just wanted to be normal and not simply be liked because of his family's fame. I thought it was a pretty cool show. Made by a celebrity for kids and not to idealize themselves, much like the Jackie Chan cartoon.
