Jackie and Martina interview Shut Up and Deal

In today's scene, a laptop and keyboard are more then enough to propel a band from basement guitar heroes to the foreground of stardom? But still, we're left guessing where'd all the music go? The sincerity and tone...the prowess and honesty? In a time when we're searching for something bright, something gripping, something real; Shut Up and Deal brings just that with their latest release and sophom...ore album, "This One's For Me."
With thousands of copies of their previous EP sold, a spot of last year's Warped Tour, national featured press and an MTV appearance all in one year, the guys had a lot to live up to. So they enlisted acclaimed producer Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Senses Fail, The Dangerous Summer) to be behind the controls of their latest effort. What they came out with was a seven song EP that's a striking showcase of the bands songwriting skills and ability to transcend genres.
Combining catchy melodies and sing-a-longs in songs like "Just So You Know" and "Sink or Swim" while keeping a melodic and honest tone in songs like "Someday, Somewhere" gives the record an identity of its own.
Armed with an undeniable work ethic and a new album, which is sure to turn some heads, the upcoming months show no signs of slowing down for the guys. The band will release their latest EP alongside the Vans Warped tour, which they'll be a part of the entire summer.
Shut Up and Deal has only scratched the surface of what's to come. With their major label mindset and undeniable DIY work ethic, you can be certain they won't be one of the here today, gone tomorrow bands' that we see come and go.
