One of my favorite guest. One of my favorite episodes !! The conversation about the disconnect from African-Americans to their respective cultures is an interesting one!

Africa needs to open citizenship to all Africans in the diaspora; especially those taken there by force. African Americans, the Caribbean, and the lot need a homebase in Africa. It's their right, imo.
Nah we actually do need Sayo's face and body skincare routine now!!
ITS THEIR LAUGH THAT KIIIIIIILLS ME EVERYTIME 😂😂😂🥳🥳🥳🥳
We need Dami and Indiyah next on the show!
The way I’m only a few minutes in, but already having to stop the podcast because I’m laughing like a seal! It is too good!

I can literally watch them have conversations and interact for a week straight like it's big brother, such a good duo!
Im not Nigerian. I am Zimbabwean and I'm Ndebele right. I grew up in the country and can speak the language myself. I'm also an artist and when it comes to wanting to represent my culture through that even I have fears over being accurate about things, phrases and language in general that i use in my work. I'm lucky to have elderly family members i can consult to make sure I'm actually being accurate about what im talking about. Whether it be spell checking, double checking the meanings etc because even between mine, my mothers and my grandmothers generations the meaning of certain words and phrases have changed. Its the same in the English language. That said. I do feel this is something many business owners overlook often. The background research. You gotta do it like its a thesis when it comes to business unfortunately. If your goal is to represent a people, accuracy is a must and so is understanding. I feel for Nigerians affected. Hopefully other people who want to do this can have this to do better.

Hands down one of my favorite episode 😂 The chemistry you have together is insane and the subjects were mad interesting, keep it coming ✨
I feel like y’all are blaming the fact that Jackie is African American for making the mistake she made rather than just holding her accountable specifically. I’m African American and I fully understand the depth of the mistake she’s made. This part of the conversation really made me upset because it just felt like African Americans were being talked down on the whole time. Jackie’s mistake has nothing to do with her being African American. It has everything to do with her not educating herself properly on the topic before trying to profit off it.
Yasssss🔥🔥🔥 I love y’all singing the theme song for That’s So Raven
Lovedddddd the episode. Always love Sayo but the volume on my KZread had to go all the way to 100 for me to hear.
These two togetherrrr! I literally cannot breath🤣😭
This has to be my favorite episode 😭❤️
a lot of people are jumping onto africa and using it as an aesthetic or just monetising entities that are completely parallel to them
Love the show, if possible can we turn the volume up 😭😭😭
Could you upload this ep on your Spotify please. For the past 2 weeks I've been listening to it on Spotify and it makes my day and my work more enjoyable ☺.

Not the Cosplay 💔💔 This is very true. They also only take parts which are “glamorous” for lack of a better word. When it’s convenient they use the “I’m African card” for relevance and relatability

The acne pill you’re talking about is accutane, it’s the strongest form of retinoid (not steroids, it’s a retinol). You can only really use it for 6 months because the side effects are quite severe. It dries out your skin, makes it flaky, can cause depression, can damage your organs. But it will completely clear acne! Some people get a bit of acne after they stop using it but not as much, others get none at all. My bf went on it when he was younger, he has had perfect skin for years now.
These ladies and their words are HILARIOUS. "Your estrogen womb"! I'm dead. 🤣🤣🤣
Sayo hit the nail on the head when she spoke about Africans in the diaspora, particularly AA 🙌🏾🙌🏾

There's a serious disconnect and they continously scream culture appropriation to white people while doing it to Africans. They mix cultures and call it "African culture" please stop😔. Glad they spoke on it really.

This episode finished so fast and I needed it because I am under the weather! It has been the best episode so far for me because of the mad chemistry! It was amazing! Reminded me of my interactions with my closest friends.❤️ I'm Zimbabwean and I found out about The End SARS movement from Jackie (even if her posts seemed lack luster, she put it on the map and it reached people like me and I was able to understand and sympathise with my Nigerian friends from University, point is, it did do something). I think I understand that she made a very grave mistake and her team should have also known better, so much better! however! She is constantly trying to connect with her roots and I think that distance sadly led to this. I don't blame her for wanting to have more depth and trying to associate and discover herself, its good to know where you come from because it brings balance and a sense of belonging which is something those of us with a close sense of belonging/home, may not be able to completely comprehend. I love her and miss her on KZread. This was a terrible oversight.
I think there needs to be an acknowledgment of privilege. Not everyone has the ability to connect to the last person in the family that is of true Nigerian/African decent. I will agree there has to be more research done but a l will implore that in moments like these we take the time to educate vs judge. Not everyone has the direct influences that some of us are fortunate to have. Speaking as a first generation Nigerian American who is trying to navigate my own connection with the culture especially when there are things i do not agree with.
I saw somewhere that the candles were just a publicity stunt, based off the phrase "Any publicity is good publicity" Even if it was a mezz up at least put a statement out...yet nothing...
NAHHH U 2 TOGETHA IS TOO GREAT
Regarding the Jackie Aina conversation is it cosplay if she is Nigerian? She's half Nigerian and always reps that. I think it was a bad move but I wouldn't say it was cosplay. Great episode!
i walk up the stairs and i'm done😂😂

The pill is Isotretinoin(Accutane), and it is on prescription only. It will clear your acne and it doesn't come back. it's very rare for it too. It's cleared for life. you can stop taking it when it clears between 3 months year or longer if it's very severe acne. it's not a steroid. It's Vitamin A . like its topical equivalent Retin A/Tretinoin but obvs stronger cos it works from the inside out. side effects are primarily minimum dryness of the skin, especially lips. saved my life man cos my acne was coming for my neck lol
Daniel kaluuya movies: nope, queen and slim and black panther.

Even Burna Boy sef entered the scene like a yam head and was calling for sanctions on his country as if that was going to help them and not hurt them. He in his own way is just like Jackie profiting and cosplaying his culture for convenience and he was born in Nigerian. The way some ppl were moving then was mad.
What is it about contacts that makes it taboo to wear as black women? I can wear Orange, blue, purple etc hair but if I wear blue contacts, I hate myself? I’m team “do whatever the hell you want” Not everything we do is political

Sayo didn’t lie regarding the Jackie situation. How do you miss the mark like that even on a business level? It feels like Jackie’s team were her mates and not people that are actually skilled. This was a different low for her

I‘ve struggled with acne too and it was really bad. My face was red, itchy and i was very insecure about it. Nothing helped! All the money i‘ve spent on skincare products and time invested into skincare routines were in vain. I then went to see a dermatologist and got pills. It was the only thing that ever helped and you only take them until your acne is gone. They don‘t come back when you stop using them.
