JackFish Creek - ATV Ride - Stead to Jackfish Creek (Polaris, Artic Cat, Can-Am)

Ойын-сауық

The four of us were finally able to get together for a trail ride. In this video we tackled the Belair ATV Trail from Stead to Jackfish Creek. The goal was to see some new trails, hit some of the loops off the Northstar and just enjoy the day.

    Nice video. I'm working on catching up! Weather looked fantastic on the ride out! And this terrain is very neat! I miss riding with the wifey. She used to be my number 1 riding buddy until she got pregnant! Hoping to have her back out there with me next Spring! HATE when the GoPro randomly turns off. Frustrating to lose good footage unknowingly. "Good to look back every once in a while and make sure the people you are riding with are still behind you" No doubt! Communicators really help too! So do side mirrors (they save the neck after a long day of riding). Love the drone footage as well. Beautiful place. That is my next move for videos. Great vid. Nice editing!

    Hahaha, well I shouldn't have to explain birds and the bee's to ya. 🤭 Our kids are a little older, almost 19, 11 and 7. Yes very frustrating to loose footage, thankfully it wasn't for very long and we didn't miss much. I've gone quite a bit longer when I first started out only to realize I wasn't recording. That sucked! But this was my own fault, I have the voice activation on my GoPro on and I have to be very careful what I say lol. Thanks for the compliments about the drone stuff, that's all my buddy Igor! I just edit it. I think it's a cool gadget, would be cool to have one but I think I'd be too afraid to fly it for fear of losing it. He's a pretty good pilot so ill leave that up to him! Lol. Yes! I had mirrors but took them off for the hand guards. I will probably get the ones that attach to my handguards eventually. Communicators we'll have before spring, atleast a few of us anyway. Thanks for checking out the vid buddy.

    Decided to have my morning coffee in bed today and found this video in my recommendations. Not sure how I missed it when it came out???, but I'm sure glad I found it! This was one of your best for sure. Half way through I thought I was watching one of my vids with all the bushwacking that was going on - lol Things for your ATV list: Comms, chainsaw, new hip waders(from one of your other vids), new carabiners, pants for Igor's wife, sticky note to remind you not to splash wife on trail again 😂🤣 Awesome video bud! Nice job on the editing, especially on that 2nd drone segment. That was excellent! I really appreciate the time you put into that. Thanx for taking us along!

    Hahaha, yeah I miss videos occasionally too and then get a recommendation for it later? Weird. Thanks for the compliments and I'm gladcto hear you enjoyed it. I enjoy the "less traveled" trails... this whole ride I wanted to do the loop rides as the Northstar can be a little too open and boring lol. The loops are where it's at but some of them need some maintenance. We had planned to bring the chainsaw but forgot it. It's not something I think to take on day trips but I suppose I should change that. Yes to comms! Hope to have some by spring, chest waders I have a pair already and (lol) yes the sticky note is a good idea. Although, I'd probably do it again as that's half the fun lol. Thanks for watching!

    The more wild it is, the more I like it. The wide open trails I find myself so bored... and actually zoning out. Maybe it's the ADHD? I love trails that keep my engaged. Thanks for the comment Ben! Thanks for checking out my video... I really appreciate it. 🙏

    Fall sounds about right for mushroom picking. I know that is when folks do it out here. That is awesome you guys all got out on a ride together. Nice of the in-law to watch your kids. Nice spot to have some lunch, take up the drone, and capture a snake lol. I am sure he is there to eat on some tiny toads? Nice video man.

    Great to be out on new trails. I sometimes have problem with my Gopro 10 turning off because it's too cold, so I never trust it for working all time. But it have been working great with the new grey battery with more power.

    Thanks man. I've heard alot of stories of the 9's and 10's overheating so obviously that was my first thought. I haven't used this camera much in the cold for extended periods. Although, most of the problems people are having overheating is when the camera is stationary and used in a vlog type setting. In my situation with the constant movement, airflow it should keep the camera cooler. I have other ways of keeping the camera cool should this ever be a problem. That said it wasn't until I was editing that I realized I had said "Recording" and that's when the camera stopped recording and then 5 minutes later I heard the beep telling me the camera had automatically turned off. I have the voice controls on, so in theory it should be direct by my voice by saying "GoPro Start/Stop Recording, GoPro Turn Off, GoPro Capture etc... ". I may have to turn this feature off as I don't need to be missing valuable video because of my unconscious rambling, lol! Thanks for watching, appreciate the comments as always.

    @@ElevationATV I didn't know that the gopro was picking up your voice that easily and stopped recording. I have it turned off to save battery. About overheating issues. I also think most people will have that issue when the camera is inside or standing still in sun, since when we drive we will get airflow to cool it down. Not sure if you have seen one of my videos, where my gopro just turned off because of cold (warning says too cold) and it still had plenty of battery left. And it was 10c outside so a cold summer day lol In winter, I always have problem with it being too cold even when the gopro is standing still recording me plowing.

  • @ElevationATV

    @ElevationATV

    That's exactly where the issues come from with overheating. I haven't had a problem yet so I was shocked when it turned off. I just need to be more conscious of what I say or turn the voice activation off. Simple enough fix. I have seen your video and have heard that they can turn off when too cold also... just things to think about when we're in action.
