"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This channel will approach self reliance from a modern perspective. and will focus on various build projects using modern amenities, and tools to build a completely self reliant lifestyle.
Many people ask me where I am from and where I film my projects. I am from Northern Ontario, Canada, and live in an area where off-grinding is easy because I have lots of land to build on and experiment with different buildings and materials. Everything I do is to try to be more self reliant, and to depend less on others. But that doesn't mean I don't like working together with other people on projects. Knowing people who have skills is part of being self reliant, and trading skills is a great way to get more things done!

I wish these companies would consider donating these units for non profits rather than always giving them for profit companies. We could really use this at our Heritage property since its entirely off grid and requires generators to power the site for tours

I have been curious about Jackery can Goal Zero panels plug into Jackery... what kind of 12 volt input does it use. I have mostly 8mm or Anderson solar panel output.... I already have a Goal Zero system that has hundreds of watts in solar panels... so compatibility is a selling point for me.

Hey Kevin! You have also covered the EcoFlow system. Are there any benefits or differences that should be noted? My Daughter and her family are converting their property to off-grid and I am hoping to make sure I help them find the best options available for their whole family. Thanks for continuing to share with us.

No experienced off gridder would ever use a high frequency, transformerless Ecoflow or this unit to power an off grid home. Experienced off gridders use hybrid, low frequency inverter chargers to power their off grid homethey last far, far longer, offer a much higher surge capacity and they won't burn your off grid home to the ground like high frequency solar generators will.

No, it doesn't make sense to have one of these because they're dangerous because they don't have a iron core copper wound output transformer to protect you AC appliances from high voltage, high amperage DC current during a catastrophic failure of the H-Bridge circuit, which can set your appliances on fire. A higher performance, and safer alternative is to use a highbrid, low frequency transformer based inverter charger coupled with an LFP battery. You'll get a much higher surge capacity and you won't risk burning up your appliance like you will with this cheap Chinese made, high frequency transformerless unit.

We appreciate you and understand that you have bills. So many don't understand that if they don't want to watch something, they can just open a different video. @fouracrefamily9801 ouch. Valid point. It upsets me when I view people attacking creators for trying to make money. Especially those I enjoy watching who have already talked about maybe not making content anymore... I don't want Kevin to feel more discouraged because you, or anyone else, doesn't like that he did an ad. Kevin has to make money or doing this doesn't make sense. And to be clear, you saying "unsubscribed" was not necessarily attacking him. That is how I took it.
