There is something so pure about these vintage bikes and this type of event .
great footage .. .. the sidecars were suprisingly good

Agreed and they are heavily modified compared to those even being ridden in the 70's /80's pre-65 events. There were few around in the South East and Tigers Cubs were notoriously unreliable and the rare Bantams were always modified road bikes. Also for the most part they were underpowered against the Ariel's, AJS and Matchless but we are talking about sections being quite hilly and lots of mud! The sections for the Jack Thompson trial look much easier than the ones I used to ride at Canada Heights (BSa Gold star and Triumph twin) especially for a December trial. Wish I was still able to ride ( back injury) as I could manage these. Used to ride with Joan Westbrook and I don't think I ever beat her on a four-stroke.
