    His voice has matured so much, he sounds so young here. His evolution of vocal range and skill is amazing, but his singing is still angelic here. EDIT: Sorry for the toxic replies section! This isn't under my control, and I'm sure everyone here is nice people, they just haven't represented themselves very well. :)

    Mindsight reminded me of memories I've suppressed so much I forgot they existed. It reminds me when I would cry or scream when I was much younger, and my mom would hold me tight and put on music. She would sing along with the music and hold on tighter and tighter to me until I calmed down. We'd normally just start dancing after that, like nothing happened prior. I miss you mom

    here's the lyrics and timestamps for the album- 0:00 *SMOOTH* Gold ran the autumn sky And often we would fly Above Arms out on the freezing sun Our jackets held us warm As dancing leaves would form Walls We'd take each others hands and we would run Goodbyes and see you soons Most every afternoon Made The lonely nights a bit easier to take You took a downward bend Night swung you back again Learn It takes a lot to watch a person break Those lakes of ours drying up Even though we kept trying, trying Smooth hands that I'd been stripped of I knew the ground till I was flying, flying Every inch that we grew And everything that we'd do Planted seeds Throughout the weeds And when It reached the sky It was a mile high And I'll always know There’s ground below 3:18 *WINDRAG* No flight tonight on Red-Set Airline Although the flights were meant to be There was an accident All of the meanings bent And the 45 crashed into the sea Red alert below the hurt will go If you let it inside you don’t survive Let the station captain know That the pilot's still alive I used to listen till the morning Then crash-landing came without warning I really tried my best But the trip was put to rest Can't sleep now the birds are chirping Red alert below the hurt will go If you let it inside you don’t survive Let the station captain know That the pilot's still alive 7:20 *RUNAWAY* You keep your distance that's for sure You led me to believe you're an open door But when I reached for your handle I learned otherwise You handed fiction out in paperback Eight hundred pages Lined from the top to the bottom with the words come here When I'm nice you’re disinterested When I’m an asshole you're offended You’re a lure with no prize A chase with no catch You're perfect Runaway Though I'm never gonna lock you down You're always gonna be around If I follow slow You’ll wait up for me You're to blame Runaway There’s a problem with your temperature I did my best I tried my best To warm you down But you froze my thermometer Your time is a magical thing Like this curse that you put on me If you aren’t willing to give me yours Why should I waste mine When I'm nice you’re disinterested When I’m an asshole you're offended You’re a lure with no prize A chase with no catch You're perfect Runaway Though I'm never gonna lock you down You're always gonna be around If I follow slow You’ll wait up for me You're to blame Runaway If my mind could turn back time I'd find myself and warn him that You're perfect Runaway Girl some day I'll find a way To break away From your luring eyes You’re to blame Runaway 12:10 *MINDSIGHT* Return to your houses Over the Eastern waters Sun shines over roses alone For the flow They see you waiting for the show Are you coming back okay? I wander around Seeing faces that I know are Unfamiliar To others in hiding Guess through the lens Mystery is festering all around It can change for you I don’t want the responsibility Confine the means to it’s cage For the love Life was soaring above Are you coming back okay? I wander around Seeing places that I know are Unfamiliar To others who help me Try to begin Destiny can capture me like a fly It can change for us 14:07 *MS. LED* Afternoon, Ms. Led Why are your eyes so red Something need be said Or pretty soon you’re dead That spiteful love you adore Won’t be taken anymore Get your feet on the floor Just three a day you won’t get sore Alone and dull You needed Therapy I gave you all You wanted more from me I want to call And listen to memories Alone and dull You lived my hell for me 19:10 *TRUST FLOWER* Sara was a girl who liked open doors Chemicals wash on guilty shores She knows that locks are frequent like your Toaster crumbs Staring games won’t freak her out Took this book and read about How all you need in life is satisfaction Asked for kindness, still it rained Asked for mercy, still it pained Wonder if she’ll ever learn Wonder if she’ll ever think to Pick the flowers from the tree Doesn’t she know she isn’t safe with me Silent hours They relax us Mirror glass is getting dull Doesn't know she’s beautiful Don’t lean into her she will contract Asked for kindness, still it rained Asked for mercy, still it pained Wonder if she’ll ever learn Wonder if she’ll ever think to 21:32 *THE DIVERGE* It’s alright don’t worry We’ll find other nests to share our Conversation And hold on meaning Far beyond what we have seen Or what we will experience Our days aren't running Our age is gone 24:32 *CURL* Will it give me injury Just try it Can I tell a lie to you Just buy it Are you coming on to me Deny it When I turn the master key You’re higher than a star Don’t let life escape your gaze Gotta read the signs Capere Boni Temporum Grasp the good times Even in the worst of times As hard as it can be Vide Humanitas See humanity Will it give me injury Just try it Can I tell a lie to you Just buy it Are you coming on to me Deny it When I turn the master key You’re higher than a star ❤️

    Mindsight was the first song on this album that made me burst into tears. I find it overwhelmingly sad more than anything. Like childhood frustration/not being able to scream in a dream coming out all at once.

  • @coffindropped

    @coffindropped

    3 жыл бұрын

    Whenever I hear it I feel both sadness and fear. Realizing the lyric’s meaning makes it more depressing and the music makes it more fearful. I could just imagine a villain of a movie/anime/whatever with a tragic backstory slowly going insane with this playing in the background (I sometimes imagine a character named Risotto Nero from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure slowly becoming insane with this in the back because of his entire Squadra dying and him being the only survivor). That aside, I love the way you interpret this song.

    For me, it is him talking about a girl with trust issues and has had a troubling past. And she has become good friends with him But, he doesn't want her to be dependent on him because he doesn't feel good enough for her, and doesn't want her to get involved with the problems in his life. It seems to me he feels out of her league because he says stuff like, "doesn't know she's beautiful." But that's just what I get from the song.

    I personally think that Jack Stauber is one of the most unique musical artists, from the way he makes the music to how it sounds and so many more factors. I think nowadays music is all the same expect for the few artists making their own original music. Jack Stauber is one of those few, who still to this day makes unique and original music. His songs either remind me of a dream or poetry and I really enjoy it. I just want to say thank you for creating this, other albums and even your micropops. Thank you.

    There's a video somewhere of Mindsight playing over pictures of liminal spaces, and I think that's the perfect imagery for this song. It makes you feel uneasy, yet there's this haunting beauty to it. I know some people can't listen to Mindsight because they're scared by the screaming, but for me, it's one of my favorite songs from Jack, if not period.

    I love listening to Jack's music while I do my schoolwork, been doing that actively for nearly a year now. And to most of his music I just end up straight ((vibing)), bopping my head to it and just getting distracted way too easily This album is literally perfect for things like that, bless your music, man Plus, it's a really good album to just calm down during quarantine, since I panic quite easily over my work and the due dates, and other life things, and just being scared of the future- It just snaps me out of it

    A year ago one of my best friends took his own life. We lived in a homeless shelter together and went through a lot of things together, and one time when we were having a really good day he suggested this playlist to me, since we already both loved Jack Stauber's recent music. I loved it, it was genuinely unique music style that was very nice. When my friend ended things, I listened to this playlist and had a total breakdown, I was completely emotionally wrecked and couldn't believe he would just leave me. We planned to finish watching Avatar: The Last Airbender if I ever visited once I had left the shelter and gone back home. A few months later I find out he's gone, and this is all I have left of him besides our texts. Thank you so much for making this music Jack, it means a lot to know you were a place of comfort for my friend even though he felt so pessimistic and hopeless about life. Now it's helping me cope with the loss of him.

    Sorry for my poor english skill This album is epic! SMOOTH gives us nostalgic feeling about our old friends. The intro is also good. WINDRAG There was airplane accident. The airplane fell down to the ocean. But the pilot survived. This song contains the memory of accident survivor. The sad feeling and lyrics make the music emotional RUNAWAY " I "(he) love " you "(she). But she doesn't love him. He keeps following(chasing) her ,while she keeps runaway. He often misunderstand her behavior(ex, 800pages book), and that's make him believe she is loving him. The chorus part and repeating rhythm was so good. MINDSIGHT The kid(suspecting)is always crying during the song). And considering with the lyrics, the boy probably missed his parents. Eating sweet taste and salty taste together is good, loke this music.

    Here's something i noticed in Windrag, i may be over-analysing but here goes. During brief moments in the song Windrag, most notably during "Let the station captain know, that the pilot's still alive" you can hear a small voice singing along in the backround if you listen with headphones. I take this as the pilot who is "still alive" because of when it's easiest to hear. This may be in other songs, although i haven't noticed

    The second verse of the song is sung by the pilot.
