I am in awe of how your dog behaves! Be proud! One day I pray mine will be so obedient! I will not give up on her! She is still a baby and I love her so much! Thanks for sharing the video! 🥰♥️🙌🏽
I can't believe how well behaved and trained he is at such a young age. My Jack Russell is a nightmare and he's 6 months old! He has such little obedience its unreal. Love your dogs little walk how he bobs along haha 😂

Adolescence is a nightmare. They forget everything they 'know' and say 'up yours !'. Just keep at it and he will settle down. This trainer is clearly very good at this and has spent a lot of time to get it this fluid. Very nice work on his part. This looks like force free training to me. I love my Jacks as they're so challenging - it keeps me on my toes.

Scottish Girl So true! JRT'S love to have their intelligence tested. Otherwise, they get too bored easily. And that's when they can become more unruly. As in, more destructive, barks more often etc.
that dog is SO DARN CUTE
Such a cute and very good at obeying!! We have a 14 yr old and she is my little sweetheart. Shows me her love always. I love the JRT!! My forever loyal friend!❤️
I'm on my third JR in 36 years, not very obedient (due to their breeding) but fabulous with children, pussy cats and people. My first lasted 15 years, the second 17, my third is now 2. I would give almost anything the have them all at once. Molly is playing with my left index finger as I type this. Bloody dog! I love her to bits!

rightangle They are one of the most obedient dogs, actually. If they are genuinely trained properly. They may be difficult with being let off the lead. And choose to run off due to curiosity. But they can be trained very well to sit, stay and other tricks, for the most part. And will return to you, if you use the correct words, such as treats or snacks or something similar. And give them a small treat for obeying your command. Most JRT'S are best to train with treats. As they're food orientated.
mio is so smart + sweet + adorable , why oh why are JRs so cuuuutte?!
wow. I am impressed. I love how he can always take place at your left side. My jrt is one year old and I really have to work harder with my little boy.
i love his front paws when he trots
Amazing! My new Jack Russell is bouncing off the walls and into everything! She is not quiet three months of age! I sure love her! She isn’t biting me quiet as much! Lol! Thank God for that! Love this video! 🙏♥️🙌🏽
Jack Russell's are so smart and fun!
exactly like my last dog Jack . same markings the lot . he was nearly 19 when i lost him . my best friend. rip jack .
Great leash training video and wow...... adorable doggie and good looking and very patient trainer!
When he was 3 I took my JRT for a walk, I was sure he was trained properly so no need for a lace. Then he suddenly ran as fast as he could and I couldnt find him. Next thing you know lol he came back with a rat on his mouth.

Aaaawwwh! Mio walks like he's dancing or prancing, his front paws move so funny! Very smart training there :)
Absolutely love Jacks, our Gus is nearly 6 months old...so cute and such a funny little guy... Although as we know they have a mind of their own and can be naughty at times!! My Wife and I would not give him up for the world!! Prayers to all, wishing you and your families to be safe and in good health in this unpredictable world...We still have our Jacks!
Love the training keep it up!
Omg his little walk is so cute😂
Awesome he’s so cute 🐶🐾🐾😍👏👏👏
I started training my jack Russell "Duncan" at about this age. He is crazy but knows tricks!
So cute ..i want some like this!
I've always had border collies my last girl passed two years ago and unfortunely I've moved into accomadation that only allows small dogs. I love collies because of their intelligence as I love training advanced obedience and the fact they have the energy to go out for long hikes and camping trips. In so lonely without a dog as I'm a introvert who doesnt enjoy human company at all but most small dogs just aren't what I'm looking for. I'm considering settling for a jack russel they won't be as intelligent or as engaged as a collie but they do seem to have energy to keep up with long walks and they seem to have fun little personalitys my friend said they're mischief but not obedient they don't like other dogs or pets and need to be always on leash due to their hunting instint from them being terriers they have no recall bit they're cute energetic loyal and love to cuddle at the end of a busy day
Your awesome! Great job! I
Wow - awesome looking dog man.
I can't believe how good the traininer is. Congrats

Way to be a breed ambassador. JRTs get a bad wrap.
Cute!😍
Amazing dog! Gotta give it to'em and gotta love'em. Not even joking I really enjoyed that video. 👍👍
thats one cute doggo
My JRT is an arse hole at times , well behaved when i have treats but a yappy fecker and so intelligent i swear he owns me , not the other way around . Work in progress as they say Gets loads of exercise each day off lead in the week and more at week ends , they can be challenging but worth the effort ....o love mine , i,m sure Toms Bergs will agree they need loads of attention to bring the best out in them . Great video thanks buddy
This doggy is very obedient
so cute
what kind of food or snack are you giving him to obey you ?
hahahaha wonderful ! thanks for showing. My pure wire-coat JRTerror is almost 18 years old now and STILL bounces off walls. The key is love.......daily hugs and treats. You can view my Terror on my KZread channel - Uploads. Have fun with your Jack.......
Great video. You are very consistent and calm. Nicely done! Our 5 month old is doing basic training. It is difficult off-leash in the park when there are many kids, adults and other dogs. She has a lot of energy to run off and sometimes can become very distracted and can ignore us. Did you have trouble in the 5-9 month range in the off-leash setting? Any tips for strong recall?
Jack Russell are the best
My dream puppy
My jack Russell say “no” or “if you want, just do it, don’t bother me” 😂😂
Dog outsmarts owner - again
Great Trainer! Jack Russells, in my opinion, are the top 10 smartest dogs, however the hardest dogs to train because the breed is highly rooted to pack instincts. Other words, JRs are too thick headed and stubborn. You guys don't realize how many hours this trainer put in. Kudos my friend. Never tussle with a Jack Russell.

My parson's almost a year old, but he still pulls a lot on his leash. I am considering a different harness, but other than that he is mostly well-behaved.
Youdid a good job training him. What the brand name of the treat you feed him?
Yep, the secret to a JRs heart is through his stomach. Foodie pigs lol
So cute! My jack is 6 he obeys the commands I've taught him but wish I would have spent more time training him he's a sneaky dog

when did you first trained mio?
I don't know about the Jack Russell Terrier, but I have a Parson Russell Terrier and she is extremely smart, learns quickly, and is generally obedient. But there are times when she is a rebel. She will do whatever she wants. And then goes back to good behavior. Heh

Mina Parsons Russell Terriers and Jack Russell Terriers are very similar with their behaviour and attitude.
I believe the puppy in the video is an Australian Jack Russell Terrier (the furrier version). Great video. My partner and I just bought one (4 months) and pick it up this weekend. Excited but nervous.
😍
lol.....I used to think you can not Jack Russle. My jack russle had so much energy, she was like ligtning bolt....lol.
The words "Jack Russell" and "obedience" don't often go in the same sentence
Cute
Mine is 8 months now, and he listens for the most part. But he is easily distracted with things happening outside and around him, so when we call he barely comes. A few times he has run off when we have the door open. Is it possible to train my dog this same way at home before taking him out? He has a mind of his own
@TomsBergs
4 жыл бұрын
I don't know how to deal with "run off's" because mine hates to be alone - he always follows me. But about distractions - take him on the leash, and prepare treat what he loves most - cheese, sausage... Treat that he loves and is crazy for it. Go outside - where is distractions (maybe don't go immediately on busy street) and try to take his attention with treat to yourself. You must be fast - in the second he looks at you and gives attention to you - give treat immediately! Do it always when you go outside. Always have treats with you! He will remember after short time.

good day...i noticed dog is off leash...how do you prevent pup from running off on you ?...my biggest fear as I can no longer run well.
🐶😍
Can you do this with a two year old dog? My dog is really good in training, but walking next to me, or ignoring me and going to people or other dogs is a real pain. Been trying to break that since a puppy, and I’m loosing
Words would have made this much more informational

Jazz Jazz Exactly what I was thinking. Take away the music. So the training commands etc, could be heard. The owner of the dog who uploaded this video has explained elsewhere in the comments, that this video was originally intended for their own dog trainer. To check on the progress of their training. And didn't expect this much attention from other YT viewers. However, I'm sure that even the trainer would have preferred to hear the dog and the owner properly. Rather than some cute piece of music.

This behaviour has been heavily trained. This is the end result of hours and hours getting it this fluid. It's still not perfect (dog pauses too often) but amazing work. The puppy clearly loves working with this guy (and the treats he's holding).
i have a jrt now, last night it randomly showed up at my house. he won't stop biting on the leash and he already broke one leash. what do i do?? my backyard is pretty big and i let him explore around and he looks like he wants to escape.

771 You made a very valid point. Regardless of the wording from your comment, I just hope the OP bothered to genuinely look for the dogs original owner. You cannot just have a dog "show up" at your house, and you decide to keep it. WTF is wrong with some people. And it's no wonder the dog is looking to escape. It probably wants to get back to its real home. And doesn't want to make another person's yard, its new home. For all the OP knows, the dog had managed to get out of their own yard. And the original owner is just frantic and heartbroken about their dog being missing. I know that I would be totally devastated if my dog got out and I couldn't find him. And some fool has decided to just selfishly keep my dog.

shankar sandi JRT'S do come in a broken coat.. both smooth and rough. But this dogs snout/jaw seems a bit more broad for a JRT. Which makes me think that it may be a Parsons Russell Terrier. Or mixed with a Scotty.
woow my jack russel puppy is 3,5 months old, and he is waaaayyy to hyper.. he doesnt have any self control.. im trying to teach him.. and im traininv everyday but haha he is just a little lazy and busy with other things when we are outside.. he knows a lot of things and is doing a great job, but self control isnt there yet..

try exercising him more, a lot of that hyper is just extra energy that needs to be burned off. you cant train a energetic pup without tiring him out first

Yes, long walks are good to calm a hyper dog. And when you train a JRT, it's best to just do it for a few minutes at a time. And about 2 to 3 times each day. Too much training, too often, can be detrimental to a JRT. Or you can make training a part of your playtime with them. That way they are learning, without them realising that they are being trained.
My Jack Russell is 8 months old. How is the best age for start the training?? And with eat use for training?? THANKS

Hi! I started on 4 months. We started with "heal" command. I took him on leash and in that moment when he made eye contact with me - i gave treat. I always rewarded him and now I don't have any problems. Now I can give commands and he listens without treats. What to give him - everything what he loves and is crazy about. Treat that you don't give him often. Mine is crazy about cheese, but I used special dog snacks - you can buy in shops. There is loot of varieties.
