This started as tongue in the cheek but Jack is becoming a very popular artist in South Africa and rightly so. This is south African im a belgian we talk flemish (a dialect from dutch) and the south African language is partly dutch, but the language is waaay different bcause Africa made his own language

yeah the language you are talking about is called Afrikaans which basically translates as african, anyways it was created as a mixture of dutch,german and french and over the years has been further modified. As an afrikaans speaker I can pretty much follow dutch as long as it is spoken slowly.

Afrikaans is does not have German influences, its language is 90% dutch origins, with french, english, Portugese, and some african languages like Bantoe and Khoisan, i dont know where u heard it had German xD

I am half-German on my dads side and half Afrikaans on my mothers side, so I can say that there are quite a few words that are very similar or the same in both languages
