Reminds me of a quote from Bruce Lee. "I don't fear a man who practiced 10,000 different kicks. I fear the man who practiced one kick 10,000 times." Meaning that man who practiced one kick over 10,000 times has become a master of it and is extremely dangerous. Same thing in the business world, just focus on one at a time. Good advice Mr. Lok.

It's true u master and become badass for a period of time...but then that time runs out..it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks...when u dabble in many fields u learn, understand, and see more...something that is extremely important in many fields like science, education, and medicine..being a master of one thing is why company's could try to push u into retirement..become a master but also want to learn more with open are experience gets u the job +

Dan is like a refresher course... Years ago I knew all this and studied it and listened to all the tapes and read all the books and I applied all of this self-help knowledge to my life and when I picked one thing and focused on it I was very successful... But life happens and sometimes you get sidetracked and really off course... But listening to people like Dan I see myself getting back on course and focused again... It's never too late ... I'm 52 years old and I've seen and learned and know a lot... yes I got off track here and there but in the process of that I learned a lot and realized things I should and shouldn't be doing... I guess things aren't that bad because compared to most people I'm living a pretty good life, but there is always room for improvement... Adios from the mountains of Guatemala Lake Atitlan

In my industry (Media) something I started to study 10 years ago, I had a focus to be one thing, but the University I went to and could only go to (Long story) did not focus on that in practicality, and I became a Generalist in all things it takes to "Make" the thing I wanted to be. It was years later I found I was a damn good generalist. But years later I found out people wanted a "Great SPECIALIST". 10 years on and I still struggle in trying to make money. Time is catching up to me and I need to refocus on what I go into all this in the first place.

I think there are skills that naturally stack with each other. For instance, public speaking and copywriting both benefit each other. If you can find a tree of high value skills that all benefit each other, you'll build your skills more rapidly than one who is working on a disjointed tree or latter of skills.

The full quote is "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one" - Meet Viktor Vicsek. You shouldn't condemn people who have abilities that's you dont. Michael Jordan was successful as a player, fashion icon-business owner/ and motorcycle and basketball team owner etc. Furthermore he was the most popular baseball player during his time in the league which equaled money for him and the league. Leonardo da Vinci, Michael Angelo, Himotep, and Nikola Tesla are calibrated for the courage they used to be a "jack of multiple trades". Never let anyone tell you, "you cant be amazing at many things". If it only takes 10,000 hours to become an expert on a subject you have enough time to master At LEAST 8 disciplines if you take your time and live until 80. Just never stop learning. I'm a musician, singer, studio owner, custom studio builder, acoustician, composer, general contractor, electrician, hvac technician, plumber.... Brake the stereotypes 💯

This speaks to my problems. I was struggling with all the skill sets I have for being the jack of all trade only to realize that what was missing from me jumping from one skill to another skill was lack of process, framework, strategy, order, and the structure was my problem. especially me being raised in an unstructured country in Africa Nigeria. Now I'm in my 40s and I'm tired with nothing to show for it. Seeing your video now has given me a change of perspective but my problem now is I don't know where to start any and what to let go anymore because of the time I have invested developing these skill sets. I really value all of these skills especially now that I have realized that it was a lack of order and structure for all these years hence why I jumped from one skills to the other. I'm currently doing a course on Digital business analysis/digital Project management which was were i discovered how to manage control and monitor crate order processes and framework and structure in the UK and I'm still struggling to let go of my old skill sets especially now that I have created order and structure to them. but for some reason, they are still too many to me. The question now is how do I make a decision to drop them off and focus on what thing because right now, I'm so emotionally attached them knowing the number of years has invested without making much money off it as I never went to business school and now that have created order and structure to them, I'm now finding it difficult to pick one: These are my Jack of all trade as follows: Web designer, Music video director, a rapper which was the reason why I went through this path in the first place as I wanted to handle everything on my own all by my self . , so, Music producer, event, wedding, videography, Music publisher and / Music Digital distribution. Now I'm currently studying project management /business analyst and then specialize in business intelligence man, I'm so confused right now I need help.

That's a good question, Hussain. Most people are used to going to school for several years to learn something, so I understand your concern. The 7 weeks are very intense, and Dan will teach you exactly what you need to be successful with HTC, and it's up to you to implement what you learn. It takes years to master a skill, but by having a life-time access to HTC, you have the ability to constantly learn. What if while focusing the majority of my resources on mastering my "one skill" i'm making enough money to be able to set aside a small portion (not a lot). Should I be learning about investing to educate myself on what to do with the cash in the interim?

Sifu, I’m running a office supplies and printing shop (paper + tshirt) and also doing photo and videography on the side. Does these considered “jack of all trade”? Or they’re in the same industry of multimedia?

This was something I had trouble with until a couple of years ago. I always wanted to be the best at everything so I spent my time being better than average at a lot of things instead of focusing on one thing that I'd be a master at. Slowly but surely getting there.

what if i just master doing real estate, study as much as i can to it, learn from others and just devote myself to acquiring it. Is that considered a skill? or is it a commitment? and do i still need to master a skill or just stay committed to it, will make things work for me.

I feel like people are often missunderstanding what "Jack of all trades means". They think so-called "Jacks" are expert in every field, while they just have enough knowledge to fill empty spot when someone is absent, or proper replacement is not found yet. It is more of a backup option instead of designed role. Jacks are still experts in their topic, they are just flexible enough to take care of other role when you really need someone at least decent.

My problem is, is that they’re all so different. Since I was younger I’ve wanted to be an artist. I drew everyday and I can honestly say I’m pretty good and would love and enjoy art school and becoming a famous artist✨. but then I fell in love with biology, chemistry, anatomy. I watch surgeries, videos, and take AP biology and chemistry in school. I develop a true passion for health care and want to be a NP and that in and of its self is hard enough but I would love it, honestly. Helping people and learning how amazing the human body is 🤯 mind blowing lol. but then I also want to own my own business/restaurant and have many great ideas and think about it often. Like a restaurant on a boat, and no I don’t mean a cruise, cruise has entertainment and you stay for a long period of time. This is just a restaurant. You get on, the boat sails around the coast, doesn’t go far from the mainland, for about an hour while you eat, enjoy the view, talk then you get off, next set of people get on. I’ve searched and I haven’t found one I think it would be such a good idea ☺️. Making my own money and working for myself and all the hard work of perfecting a business that you grew yourself. Love it. And then I want to be a writer, I’m writing a book on wattpad. And just agghhhhh so many thing that I love and want to master and I wouldnt mind doing any of these for the rest of my life. I have passion and love for all of them. Rn I’m 17 and applying for colleges as a nursing major and minoring in art but honestly I’m conflicted. I would LOVE to master all of these to ✨absolute perfection✨ and make a career out of all of them, but it’s probably best to keep some as hobbies. 🥺😭

I noticed a lot of people talking shit about people like Dan, grant cardone, garyvee, etc because they don’t give specific instructions on how to get rich 2 reasons they dont 1. You can get rich doing multiple things different per person 2. They want you go be in it for more than the money so a formula that just gives you money will not last
