When you have a neighbour who's a miserable cynic who hates popular stuff, they're bound to be hated.

Jack was the original Jack in the Box mascot in the 1970s until they blew him up sometime in the early 80s. They went mascot-less in the 80s until they brought Jack back, having undergone plastic surgery. He blew up the people who blew him up in his debut and had an edge about him for the rest of the 90s/2000s. Truly one of the greatest mascots of all time.

There were ZERO Jack in the Boxes in Montana when I was a kid, and the only time I ever heard them mentioned was on the news when people were getting salmonella or some other serious sickness. 😂 I loved that place until I paid $30 for 2 meals.

I was furious, could have went down the street to a sit-down restaurant and paid the same price, lol. And yeah! I think I recall the Kangaroo thing! Didn't McDonald's have a scandal like that as well?

Fun fact: the number actually worked and when you called it Jack answered. It was a prerecorded message like people used to do on answering machines where he pretended that he was talking to you then halfway through it became an advertisement.

I work at McDonald’s and the sandwiches are assembled to order now. All the meat other then QPC’s are precooked though.

No, it's not that. it's the advertisers found that the short ones are cheap and effective, and don't draw attention to their shady business practises. personally I'd kill for an 80s style (as in flagrant advertisement for their products, transformers is a notable example.) tv show staring fast food mascots, they have tons of money and really fun characters that can interact in fun ways. they just choose not to I guess??? Tbh, I actually really like the jack in the box Jack. and like seeing him in a like an antagonist role would be hilarious, I miss the days when ads were cheaply made tv shows with alot of heart. tbh, I really want to return to that, ads are made to basically exploit our brain chemistry anyway. why can't we have a fresh take on their mascots, in like a weird fun crossover show??? smh, they could be making a killing off of mercy AND their products. like I see through their lying half the time, and the other half I've been manipulated. so like TV SHOW Hope you have a nice day! :D

And most fast food isn't even making the food in an appreciably quicker time, either. Can't keep enough people employed because they refuse to pay their employees better, as their food prices rise year after year. Where's all that money going? You can just order a meal ahead for pick-up at a real resteraunt and do it all on one go. Fast food forgot that it's supposed to be a good price for good portions, in reasonable time frame. Plus, you know the money is going back to your community and the people who need it.

Restaurant companies severely underestimate the opportunity that returning to their roots can be. If Jack switched up their marketing and image today, they’d see an increase in profits tomorrow. If McDonalds brought back retro 90’s vibes, they’d see an influx immediately.

It’s crazy to have actually seen some of these commercials when they aired and realize how much has changed since then. Truly a different world we currently live in, and not for the better.

Growing up on the northeast coast you only had 3 options: McDonalds, BK, or Wendys

I don't even think I've ever eaten at, driven by, or been within the vicinity of a Jack in the Box restaurant... But these commercials make me want some! 😂

Oh wow, I didn’t realize that these kind of commercials went back _that_ far. There weren’t any Jack in the Boxes around where I grew up in the 90’s, so none of there commercials played on local stations.

A fast food mascot shaming old Nicholas Klause for elf health mistreatment is a real treat.😂

I don’t get why they used a picture of John F. Kennedy though, considering the accomplishments he made during his presidency, like achieving the goal before the 1960s were out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth.

These commercials aren't THAT old, but they feel old.. in a good way. I miss those days..

So you can get an Ultimate and 4 Tacos for $11. That 99 cent Jumbo Jack is about 5 dollars now, and the man who said raise the price would be given a raise in this todays economy.

Terrific marketing. Now I’m actually craving Jack in the Box when I was never a big fan.

I still think about a handful of these commercials daily. Still munching down those tacos.
