In the late 40s and early 50s my family and I always listened to the Jack Benny radio show on Sunday night. Almost everyone who had and radio listened. It is very strange to be able to sit here during the weird Christmas season of 2020 and listen to these same programs from three quarters of a century ago. Seems like only yesterday. Jack sounds as good as ever, just the world has changed, A totally different world now. Was that one even real?

"Luckies are the best made" What does that mean? That's the most meaningless claim.

True - although the same could be said of a lot of ads. More effective in a way and much more fun to hear. I did grow up on these old shows, but in general - do I remember youtube/radio/tv ads? Not really. I easily remember these old ads though - humming Lucky Strikes ad music, mentioning Petri wine/Blue coal/Prell shampoo/Swan Soap/Maxwell House coffee/etc. (I could go on for paragraphs...)

It probably means Lucky Strikes are the best made cigarettes, I know I’m kind of crazy but it made sense to me.
