Jack Benny radio show 1/8/50 Drear Pooson
This episode has what may be Frank Nelson's funniest moment on the series. When Don Wilson fluffs the name of columnist Drew Pearson early in the show, one of the greatest callbacks in history occurs when Frank Nelson makes his entrance in a sketch later.

After Don’s flub, the writers took Frank Nelson aside and rewrote his line without Jack knowing. Jack doubled over laughing and it took quite some time to get back on track.
Not only was this the best Benny show ever (radio or TV), but the best radio show from anyone, ever.

It is in the conversation as being the peak of all entertainment to date, an absolute masterpiece.
This particular episode is one of the best shows ever, and one of our personal favorites. The writing and the timing and the guest stars were all incredible.
This might be the greatest half hour in light entertainment ever.
This show could be funnier with an ad-lib or a blown line than 90% of all other shows can be with their best scripts. Top notch.

I grew up on tapes of these types of shows. Don't know if you've heard this, but if you enjoy the 'flubs' and "ad-libs" of shows - you would totally love the Command Performance OTR episode "Dick Tracy In B Flat".

pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.
I’ve been wanting to hear this episode for years! Thank you so much for letting it happen at last!
Best comedy show ever.
This is my all-time favorite Jack Benny episode.
I just listened to a radio interview with Frank Nelson and he told this story. Very funny. Thanks for sharing.
At 12:42 you can distinctly hear Jack's hysterical laughter to the moment.

The voice of the dog had to have been Mel Blanc.
I completely agree with greenmonsterprod! What do network channels, cable or any other form of today’s entertainment have in the form of comedy (including their millions in CGI) that comes close to standing up to this in inventiveness?

You got that right ! I'd rather listen to the great classics of yesteryear than what passes for comedy today ! And in those days they were able to make us laugh without the use of profanity !

"Certain" markets preferred promotional material for the Benny program without "Rochester". Notice Mr. Anderson's image can be easily edited out without compromising the entire photo. 😕
