Jack Andreasen, Bayo Owolabi, Erin Burns, Giana Amador, Ted Christie Miller | Climeworks CDR Summit

Ғылым және технология

Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) confronts one of the largest externalities in history - carbon emissions. Yet, like many externalities, it remains largely unpriced. To induce demand for CDR, we must explore both explicit and implicit methods. From direct government procurement, as piloted in the US, to compliance mechanisms like ETS and LCFS, and from regulatory frameworks to voluntary corporate leadership and tax credits, a spectrum of strategies is available. This session aims to illuminate the current landscape of demand for CDR solutions and examine how technology providers, corporates, government bodies, and policymakers can synergize efforts to ensure robust and predictable demand, aligning with international climate goals.
