I think so, but she may flower a bit less. And you will need to make sure keep her roots from circling in the pot.😀🪴

Great video. We love our tree but noticing the tree is not healthy as before. The leaves are sparse yellowing and curling at the tip, like it’s not getting enough water. However, we have been getting heavy rain almost every day. What can we do to help our tree recover ?

Hmm, sometimes, too much water can cause similar symptoms. How is the soil around your jac? Is there any standing water after a rainstorm.? We have been getting a lot of rain in South Florida over the last month. 😀🪴

@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGNthank you for your reply. The soil around the tree is good, no standing water. A year ago we bought some small mango trees, we placed them under this tree (for shade) about 3-4 feet away from the trunk. The mango trees are doing well, but I’ve watered the mango trees 2-3 times a week for about 20 minutes. I’d be surprised if this jacaranda is that sensitive to water.

Hmmm, I hate to say it but it may be that the mangoes watering may be culprit, you may be introducing overwatering with the mangoes.... @2-3 times a week, that could be a prob for your soil grown Jac. Can you move your mangoes to another location or put a saucer underneath them so excess mango watertering doesn't go into soil? 😀🪴

Yea it’s good to cut away the lower branches at ground level, but keep central trunk ( leader) so your jacaranda can grow taller! 😀🪴

I really love this tree but am worried about the location at which we want to plant it. We have a pool in our yard and the planter area is about 10-12 ft away from the pool and the concrete that boarders pool is about 4th from where we want to plant. We were worried a little about the roots invading or cracking the unground gunite pool.

Hi, I am not as concerned on roots of jacaranda ( they are much less invasive as Oak's or Ficus) but Jacaranda leaf drop may be an issue around your pool. Maybe consider adding in some palms instead? And place your jacaranda in the yard (not i n planter) farther away? 😀🪴

Can having concrete around the tree hurt the tree? We have a circle of soil around the trees trunk and then concrete in the rest of the yard.

  • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN

Hi, unfortunately concrete slabs is not the best border for trees. Concrete has higher PH and that isn't great for the tree and since concrete is impervious it reduces rainwater accessibility to roots. 😀🪴

I planted a Jacaranda in April in Broward county, but I’m concerned about the base of the trunk. It looks like is cracked and rotten, but I don’t see pests or mushroom root rotting. Could it be my soil?

im sorry about your tree. Is it possible damaged from lawn service? Sometimes riding mowers /other equip hit tree bases and they can crack them. Damaged trunks can lead to rot. But on soil, What type of soil do you have?😀🪴

Jacs in a pot are gonna be tricky to flower. This tree wants to get big so I would place her in a real big pot if you want to get her to bloom. And add a bloom booster fertilizer in spring to help with flowering.😀🪴

Hi! I have found that Jacarandas in south Florida tend to flush out differently that in their place of origin. Our climate is similar but not the same as is our soil. So Jac’s tend to do their own thing here, partial leaf drop some years more flowers other years….always a surprise as to what they will do. 😀🪴
