The thing that makes the wockeez stand heads and shoulders above the rest is the complete creative control over the smallest to largest artistic elements. The aesthetic shots, photographic direction, hard lighting to make them look graphical, gimbal usage, and color grading on top of the outfits and dancing showcases them dialed in at their best. They are a manifestation of a complete creative vision achieved through dance, and that’s why they’re a powerhouse that has stood the test of time.

I think one other thing that most people overlook is that they dance to the entire scope of the music itself and not just the beat. Most dance crews compile their moves based off of the rhythm of the beat itself, but Jabba takes it even further and _all_ of their moves cover the entire _scope_ of a song. If there's a little blip on the offbeat, or an adlib in the vocals, or a synth drop, whatever it may be -- their dance moves reflect those sounds. They move according to all of the changing sounds of an entire song -- every single instrument and part -- instead of simply dancing to the beat itself. It gives them so much more creative freedom and really makes you appreciate the dancing as well as the song itself, as some people tend to listen to music as a "wall of sound", hearing all parts at once, and when Jabba's dance moves point out those little intricacies within the song itself in a visual way by dancing to it, it really makes people hear the song in a different way. They are super awesome and really respect the songs that they dance to and breathe life into them.

Flume's music is always so perfect for the Jabbawockeez. His songs all have off-beat, glitchy, plucky sounds which the Jabbas are masters at synchronising with their choreos. Flume also incorporates wavey, droning sounds which provide a nice contrast, like near the ending segment of their Some Minds choreo where the Jabba in the middle is dancing to the glitchy synth, while everyone behind him are bringing their arms up and down following the cadence of the background vocals. Rant over, just wanna say it's been crazy y'all have been around for 20 years... here's to another 20 👑👑

That's not a rant, it's a really great comment that I appreciated and enjoyed reading and going back to the video to see what you described. I replied to Wayne S 's comment and just talked about how great jabba were at incorporating all of their moves to the entirety of the song and not just the beat, and your description of Flume's production style and how they move to it really resonated with what I wrote. I SAW THEM 10/08/23 AND WAS SO GRATEFUL THAT THEY CHOSED ME TO APPEAR ON STAGE WITH THEM AND HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING THEM AFTER THE SHOW. I AM STILL OVERWHELMED BY BEING IN THEIR PRESENCE. Tony Tran going back to the Jabbawockeez is one of the best decision ever. Just wishing Ben Btek Chung can join again. If Tony can be in both crew (Kinjaz/Jabbawockeez) Btek can as well.Still seeing him rep Jabba gears even though he hasn't been with the crew since 2014.
