@@TheJoydish I can understand your admiration for your Bengali great but Yesudas beats Kishore in all categories hands down...voice quality, singing everything. Of course Kishore was a great singer and I'm a big fan but truth has to be spoken. Kishore was not a trained classical singer, Yesudas put lot of hard work into his singing, so it shows

Each and every time I heard this song my entire body chilled like an ice cube..but in the meantime inside that ice cube my heart burns like a furnace...this song takes me back to my early school days,where there was no internet.we can feel all the beauty of that era by this only one song. what a fantastic song it is ...hats off daasetta...

Sangeeth-sangeetham, Gaana-gaanam, Nidra-nidra, Swapn-swapnam, Sundar - sundaram, Bhaag-bhaagam, Thidhi - thiyathi, Aadar-aadaram, Sathru - sathru, Mithr-mithram, Nadhi -nadhi, (river) Van - vanam, Kaanan-kaananam, Nisa-nisa, Raath-raathri, Prem-premam, Nasht-nashtam, Varn - varnam, Swaagath-swaagatham, Prabhaath - prabhaatham, Soorya - sooryan, Chandr-chandran, Nakshathr-nakshathram, Pushp-pushpam, Pranaam - pranaamam. There are many many more such word. This similarity makes it easy to learn these two languages.

I dont know why do i keep coming back to this song!! It's weird kind of peaceful... ❤️

I still remember when I was 12 and sang this song on stage and won 500 Rs cash prize... Everyone asked me why you selected this song and not other songs.... I had no answer unless saying it touched my heart... Gradually after growing up I understood how not all songs just meant for some relationship but it fills the space in our life where we expect someone to do so and it just becomes a dream.

The velvet voice of KJ Jesudos lifts you to heavenly heights...that is not the only reason for you to love this song, but there are many...Both Amol Palekar and Zarina are at their best...They just did not touch each other, but still managed to present one of the best love songs ...This is the true love...this is the purest love...simply superb! Amol Palekar...the gentleman of Hindi filmi world....

His Hindi songs, composed by Ravindra Jain Ji, look simple initially. But if you try to sing you will realize the nuances that you can't reach at all. Even a 60% accurate reproduction is great, I'd say. I have listened to many reality show contestants trying to sing Yesudas songs. They were nowhere near the original. Still judges would encourage them :-)

When raveendran master composed his first song for a film (Yesudas helped him to get the opportunity), he composed a song (thaarake mizhiyithalil) with an extremely base portion so that, almost all people would find it extremely difficult to even sing properly. Same thing happened with 'harimuraleeravam'. He composed it to shut up the people who were saying that yesudas had become old and could not control his breath anymore.

I m at age of 63, a struggled actor in various bengali TV serials and in feature films and OTT . In those my young days in my college life l was a cinema worm, in kolkata's esplande area we had a business and its ending time was related to banking hours off, it was at 12 noon while banking hours used to off on every saturdays and l used to take chance to watch movies at noon show( started at 12 noon) on most of saturdays, and that habits made my eyes and feelings to watch quality movies, especially those films directed by Satyajit Ray, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Chatterjee, Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalni etc. Since those days few songs have became my very favourite, it can say Hot favourites. In this way the song of CHITCHOR that one of hot favourite of mine, and due to watching films of those said directors, at present l have choosed the profession of acting, Good Night
