After watching radio star. Jyp explained why he sent Wonder girls to the states for a failed global debut. The intro makes a lot of sense. Sunmi said it was a horrible time for her mentally, she struggled. While JYP looked back on those times as a experience and feels sorry because he didnt know there was gonna be a economic crisis and all those companies would shut down. And Wonder Girls would suffer. Lost their popularity in Korea, would have to build up their fandom again because they were away for so long. The lineup changes, members leaving, members joining, failed comebacks then finally success towards the end and a sudden disbandment. Wonder Girls went thru a lot. As a fan those videos in the beginning were emotional to watch.

@@caramelatte5477 they went on a hiatus in 2013 at that time Sunye(leader) got married then became pregnant shortly afterwards she ended up retiring from the industry the following year , Sohee left the company to focus on acting, Sunmi and Yeeun were doing solo stuff the Wonder Girl ended up finally coming back in 2015 then disbanded in 2017

Yeah, this is my ideal state of how idol should perform on stage. Nowadays many idols lip sync, even for those who sing live often the backtrack is so loud. It's so hard to hear their real singing voice. It's great how senior artist like ssak3 and jyp were doing it like a role model.

Zia they are using choreo too hard on more n more that will make them unstable and tired after perform,but i still remember that from yes or yes era they always use their real vocal really well like last year soba awards, because the choreo is not hard,it is more comfortable for non vocal liner👌,hope for better treatment next cb💪🏻

People are hating on JYP saying he’s creepy but what they don’t know is that he’s one of the most respectful human being out there. I remember once that he said that he hates when men are embarrassed with dancing to girl group songs and half ass the choreography and when he dance to them he dance without changing the choreography to make it look more “manly”. Toxic masculinity is really bad here in Asia, and for you to assume he’s a creep for his appearance when he respects not only female idols but literally every human being around him is just bs. This is honestly why we don’t get good things.

still i think its more than ok to recognize his past "creepy" behavior towards female idols and the god complex he holds over them and towards himself. He's produced some of the best but he still lacks in being non judgmental. Also, I think it's safe to say he won't respect you if you're a trainee who he considers to be overweight. (as we've seen multiple times before)

It is actually because he does intermittent fasting (IF) and exercise.

I do love that the man still has this desire to perform and create. I know a lot of us joke about him trying to outshine his artists but this is something he loves. And showing people that he doesnt have to be a young adult to still come out with new things and show off is, i think, a good thing.

That's why WONDER GIRLS is still the best JYP group ever had

Sunmi's live vocals are everything

People commenting "JYP is a creep" haven't been into k-pop for that long. If you've been following Wonder Girls from the beginning, you know JYP is one of the most respectful and kind artists/bosses in the industry. He truly cares for his artist's mental and physical health. There is much worse choreography in k-pop than this. This is just a fun duet their doing together. Also, he's married and has a kid.

@@anjaanja6448 because he knows the industry better than we do. JYP himself was kicked out of auditions at companies, including SM, just because of his "ugly" face. He has said this himself. If he thought Jihyo was too fat, he could've kicked her out of his company when she was even just a trainee. No one would even question him. But he didn't. People accuse him of fatshaming but look over things like how he asked Miihi from Nizi to eat well because she was becoming too skinny. He knows health is important for an idol for them to last in the long run, he was an idol himself. And he takes good measures to keep them healthy. So don't just throw accusations like that.

I once read about how Wonder Girls could've been the Nation's Girl Group instead of SNSD (Girl's Generation) if they just didn't debut in America. It was a bargain but JYP decided to take the risk and sent WG to promote in the US because he really wanted them to debut in America. While they were gone, SNSD started to rise in the entertainment market and make a name for themselves. It was already too late when WG came back. It's kind of sad but I believe things happen for a reason and also, this serves as a good lesson for JYP. I'm sure he learned a lot from this experience.

Okay I do like WG but regardless of whether WG left or not, it wouldn’t have impacted SNSD. Here me out: Even in 2007 and 2008, WG was dominating with catchy songs but their album sales were always so-so. During that time, snsd did way better than wg in terms of that. Everyone knows digital sales means you get the general public’s love whereas physical sales means fandom power. Personally, snsd would have came out on top regardless because they always had fandom power but gee just changed the game for them. Fyi, when gee came out, WG literally just left Korea to America. So it’s not like WG was away for years and people moved on. I think if WG stayed, they would have stayed on top. But to say snsd wouldn’t be nation’s gg is kind of a stretch. Everyone knows that throughout an idol career, big fandoms are the most important because concerts and merchandises. Oh and not to mention, wg didn’t really appear on variety whereas snsd was everywhere on tv and they snatched commercials. Oh and a few members appeared in dramas and ost too

SunMi said JYP loves her voice because she has a low breathy vocals. That's why she did so many verses in Wonder Girls Tracks

When it's Sunmi's solo part I was originally focusing on her vocal, I just LOVE how she sings in her lower register but, lmao, I jusst can't focus on Sunmi's solo scene when JYP is enjoying himself so much behind her... lmao he is so good at stealing the stage..

Most people who hate him don't even know he isn't the ceo but a chairman. He has nothing to do with promotions of groups. As far as i know the only thing he had power over until end 2016 ~early 2017 was what songs were good enough to promote. Now there is a vote system so that even doesn't apply anymore. JYP is just an artist under JYPE and the face of the company who comes up with amazing songs and ideas.

3rd and 4th gen idols are just focused on choreographies. Not saying that makes them less talented, just saying that singing live whule dancing is a whole different level of skill. I miss 2nd gen of kpop when we used to not like pre recorded vocals or stages with loud backtracks.

JYP is one of those people that were born with a star inside so bright there’s no option but to be famous in some way. Not only to the extent of themselves being huge but evolving to the point of mentorship and relaying those skills to others he sees talent in.

I love this performance. Everything is so perfect; the vocals, the dance moves, the fact that JYP doesn't change his dance to make it more "manly", their beauty, JYP's respect for Sunmi. I live for 'When We Disco' 💫
