I know many people that would refuse to be a backup in the NFL and others that would quit the minute they hear they aren't playing. The fact this dude was a career backup and was happy with that is actually a nice change of scenerio, he just seemed grateful for even being drafted.

He was a 3rd stringer for my Roughriders in the CFL, as I recall he was very well liked and respected.
Those were truly some dark years of Niner football between JT and coach Mike Nolan
I love these human stories. I am from California, about a 20 minute drive from Davis and his school of UCD. I grew up a 49ers fan, and while he was no star, I felt happy to watch a local kid play as the starting QB for my favorite team. Maybe like five people in the world know this, but if you played as the 49ers in EA Sports Head Coach for the xbox or PS2, J. T. O'Sullivan would easily become a start QB under the Mike Martz offense. The way the game is set up, the playbook and everything aligned for him to be the second coming of Kurt Warner. That wasn't just my experience, other people tried it out and saw the same results. I will always have fond video game memories of J.T. O'Sullivan.

Cool to see a short on J.T. Remember watching him play for the Galaxy. Shame they didn't win the final World Bowl.
Now I understand why QB School actually feels like school. A lot of competition for football analysis, and QB School is my favorite. Even after everything he put his wife through (granted, Navy brat), she still is still devoted, says something about him. His likeability shows up in the program. Hardly ever says anything bad about people. The worst is something like 'you can't do that'.
...And now JT passes along his depth of knowledge to the next generation. A wise man
I love his KZread channel, the QB school.

7:25 I am learning how to become a personal assistant to an aspiring Broadway playwright. We were talking about this very concept the night before I watched this video again. It is funny how life works!
It's here to show how hard is to be a QB in the NFL. This dude have a huge football IQ(you can see on his channel ''The QB school'')and yet he was a backup/pretty bad starter his whole career. That's why the good QBs takes ''all the money'' of the roster, because is the most difficult and specialized position in sports.
I saw the Clive Cussler book, you can’t fool me J.T.
Glad to see you have some Rider Pride!
This guy needs to be an offensive coordinator or assistant in the nfl. Straight up dude. With a world of experience. His QB School channel here on KZread absolutely on point. Not much more I can say.🏈👏😉
JT has the best QB breakdown videos on youtube with QB School. He may have not have had great success in NFL but his journeyman career makes him so knowledgeable in his film breakdowns. He might be more suited to be a QB coach.
I remember that year he played qb for my niners, glad he’s doing well these days
He now runs the best football analysis channel out there

As a Niner fan I remember watching him and thinking he was the best we had at the time.. I think it was between him and Shaun Hill
Remember him with the Saints on Madden 05
This starts off like a Lowe's commercial. Also, lots of whistling.
Don't fool yourself if you think this guy doesn't have value! Think of how many playbooks this guy has seen as well as discussions with different coordinators in film rooms. Holding the clipboard for the starter provides so many situational awareness knowledge that he could possibly be a great QB coach one day, and maybe even an offensive coordinator!
Still have his niners jersey tho’.
