That was just so amazing. I love your voice and musicality. I love your story too. I have a similar story. I was a rugby player but wanted to sing more than anything. I sang in the University choir(tenor) but could also sing all the soprano notes...everyone thought I was funny. I mustered all my energy up and auditioned for vocal lessons....to be told that dumb rugby players will not understand classical music and besides men don't sing like that anymore (1992). So I never pursued it. Then in 2010 someone heard me "mess" around in a local choir and encouraged me to take a step....I did...and it was so wonderful. Certainly do not sound as amazing as the CT around but I just enjoyed making music....then I had cancer and my 5 surgeries later my vocal chords were damaged....continue making music because I love vicariously through you....

Late to this reply, but lol Oftentimes classically educated singers are taught to sing in usually 2-3 different languages outside of their native language, typically English, Italian, French, German, and sometimes Latin! My sister was in a musical theater program, and she had an instructor teach her the diction of German and Italian so she can sing some pieces for her final performances

Orlinski is delightful with splendidly crisp diction, someone to watch in the years to come. I did find the jigging about of the other performers something of a distraction.

Sublime Bach - exquisite Orlinski - doesn't get any better

His voice is amazing and atemporal like that of other sopranists who populated the era of Mozart.I am sure Mozart should have appreciated this talent.Jakub thank you and good life.

I'm hopeful that Jakub will record a Bach cantatas album soon, and this ensemble seems well suited for the job.

I love this so much. I watch it all of the time. Today it is making me cry for some reason. I often cry at sheer beauty.

Your singing Jakub is pure heaven. The English horn is the most beautiful that I have ever heard.

What a pleasure to hear that voice. I didn't know that voice a few months ago and now I'm looking for all his recordings on You Tube. I hope he will continue to amaze us, especially since he is still very young.

Very nice. love his voice. Just discovered Jakub as a new countertenor to add to my very short list of countertenors that I really like listening to. And one can say that I am very demanding here. He belongs to this very small guild of Countertenors that do NOT desperately try to sound like women but form an own special genre in between: men that just sing very high but still sound like men. I only know very few countertenors that sing like that: Scholl, Davies, Sabadus are to name here. And - Orlinski!

@@alanmundy1536 NO. Certainly NOT. Jaroussky is one of the most explicit examples of a countertenor that desperately tries to sound as female as possible. I do not like his style at all.

This is so like Scholl's interpretation, and yet his own. Scholl, my favorite countertenor, has a successor. Thrilling.

I personally prefer Orlinski over Jarousky but at the level that they both sing I think it comes down to a subjective matter of taste since they are both masters at their craft. Orlinski also happens to be better looking (again, very subjective) and I'm a sucker for a good looking performer.

I found it really heartwarming. It's a wonderful musical moment that didn't detract anything from the performance. Great that it was caught on camera.
