Aber die Qualitat is nur mono. Kann man mindestens,das unglaublig schon gesungen Schluss (Ruht wohl) nich auch auf KZread setzen?

Probably the most striking aspect is the sheer enthusiasm for Bach's music which shows in the body and facial expressions of the entire choir.

I agree! Bach was, IMO, the master of drama in music, although it's interesting that he never wrote an opera. As for your comment, it would be unfortunate if anyone singing in such a masterpiece would remain unmoved!

Extraordinarily well done ; the rhythmic line is of an absolute beauty, and give this sublime piece his very sacred character. Not to slow, not to precipitate, so we can catch all the magnificence in each note. Thousands of BRAVO. THIS CHIEF IS A GENIUS !

These kids are so unbelievably well trained in Bach. They nearly dance! Only a top Conductor coach can get them this far . I play Bach for nearly 70 years now. Never heard or see something like this. Bravo!

Almost four decades ago, the choir from Indiana University, directed by Donald Neuen, performed in tour the Bach's St Matthew's Passion in a very similar way... astonishing!

Stumbled on this video tonight. Quite overwhelming singing, tremendous verve and energy, focus and concentration. Moved me to tears! Thank you so much from New York and I hope to come see and hear you all sing one day soon!

First: greetings from Belgium. Second: I discoved this choir some years ago and it went straight to my top five of boys choirs. They make Bach sound so clear and light... I love this performance.

Die schreckliche Sehe des Abysmus der Golgotha richtig am Anfang des Passiones. Der mächtige Schrei der ganze Menschheit zu Gott. Etwas ähnliches zu ein gewaltiger "Warum?". Tiefmal Berührend.

There simply aren't enough superlatives to accurately describe just how good the Windbacher Knabenchor is. Marvelous, stupendous, outstanding, außgezeichnet, und fantastisch are few that come to mind.

There is definetely a unique timbre which can only be produced by boy trebles. It would beca pity if that was totally sacrificed on the alter of political correctness.

This might be the greatest choral performance ive ever came across. These kids have my utmost respect for the passion and love they pour into that performance.

best performance I know (of many I heard) of this section of The Passion. It is a mysterious piece; singular in Bach's output, and unique in all of music; one is allowed to imagine the agony of the Saviour of Humankind, betrayed and crucified.

Glorious. Sung as Bach intended, by a chorus of cherubs.

What a pleasure not only to watch but to listen to this excellent choir. Their enthusiasm is infectious. Their obvious enjoyment in performing this work is so very evident.

This is such an inspirational performance with true excellent in musicality, articulation and passion. Such a balanced choir with strong singing in all voices. The choristers give all of themselves into this intense interpretation and Ludwig Böhme is a truly superb conductor. It’s one of the best performances and interpretations of the Johannes Passion I have ever heard. I’m in awe at the nuances in dynamics and emotion which are conveyed ! What a tribute to J.S. Bach !

The more horrific tragedy in history we can feel trough theese cords of Bach excellently performed by this choir. Thank you

I always think of it as some kind of miracle to get young men and boys to sing at any level. Bach must have had a resource of such singers to perform a new Cantata each Sunday. I’m assuming they were young men and boys such as this remarkable choir. BRAVO!

I believe that moving of the body gives a positive effect on the sound. Pianissimo and forte never had been better audible for me. Complete standstil is not good for breathing. ( My ten cents)

Man spürt, wie mitgerissen die Jungs sind, wie sie wippen, sich strecken, wogen, Luft wuchten. Wer so in der Musik versinken kann, hat sie verstanden. Wer die Sänger zu dieser befreiten Art zu singen motiviert, ist ein Meister, der diesen Jungs für's Leben begreiflich gemacht hat, was Musik im Körper bedeutet. Nur stehen und singen ohne Bewegung ist nur Absolvieren. Singen und Mitgehen ist Eintauchen und Verinnerlichen. Mein Kompliment und tiefer Dank für dieses Erlebnis!

I marvel at the number of high quality Boys choirs that Germany and Austria have and have seen videos by this choir on many occasions but know very little about them. Bach is the staple diet of all of them, but this short extract is, to my untrained ears at least, right up with any other performances. I need to find out more about the choir. Thank you for the question about the whole concert and the answer, I look forward to watching it all.

There are more than 80 boys'choirs in German speaking Europe, and many of them of the highest calibre. We in North America are rather backward in that respect.

Me encanta cómo pronuncia muy bien el alemán y las voces blancas de éste coro masculino se escuchan las 4 voces de este impresionante y mítico coro de introducción al oratorio sacro, lamentablemente se desconoce el poeta de la letra de las arias y corales, Bach supo ponerte tremenda música. Wunderbar diesen Chor mit seinem neuen Dirigenten in dieser Harmonie und Hingabe an diese wunderbare Musik zu erleben. Hoffentlich schauen sie manchmal in Leipzig vorbei um uns hier wie im ersten Bachfest nach seiner dirigententätigkeit zu berühren. Ansonsten bleibt ja das ansbacher Bachfest. Danke für diese wunderbare Aufführung, die das Herz berührt
