Il y a de la douceur, du retour aux sources, un respect de l'esprit de Bach face à l'un de ses plus grands chefs d'oeuvre lié à la souffrance et le souci de ne pas désespérer. Cette version est en tout état de cause magnifique compte tenu notamment de la maîtrise parfaite de son instrument par Chiara Massini. Tout mon respect pour l'artiste. Splendide !

I've just discovered this channel a few minutes ago, and i'm blown away, excellent interpretations and a really great sound. I've heard a lot of arrangements for the Chaconne by composers such as Mendelssohn, Schumann, Ressel, Raff etc, but i didn't know, that Gustav Leonhardt has written such an incredible transcription. What a pleasent surprise, thank you for sharing your wonderful work!

Qui si sente benissimo che la ciaccona, di per sé, è un'antica danza spagnola. Proprio nel ritmo: in alcuni momenti, penso soprattutto alla variazione arpeggiata, mi sembrava di ascoltare un inedito forse di Albeniz. Lo si percepisce per bene solo in pochissime altre interpretazioni. Trovo che sia un segno di aver fatto davvero centro nelle scelte interpretative di questo brano. I miei complimenti!

Really great performance! There are more great performers, some may even play slightly more virtuously. But I always come back here, to Chiara. I do like and prefer her personal style and interpretation!

This is truly wonderful! I've heard this Bach ciaconna by many violinist and in transcriptions for guitar and piano, but for some reason never for harpsichord. Why did I think it would not work on an instrument from Bach's own era? I'm glad to have happened across this interpretation. Thank you so much!

Riesci sempre a regalare emozioni inaspettate, carissima Chiara ..... quante volte abbiamo ascoltato la Ciaccona BWV 1004 e in quante diverse versioni e trascrizioni, eppure ascoltando questa tua vera perla è stato come affrontare per la prima volta un sentiero mille volte visto ma mai realmente percorso e che, passo dopo passo, induce a riflettere e a ripensare ai precedenti ascolti. Un abbraccio forte e grazie dal cuore. P.S.: attenzione all'accordatura di alcune note della terza ottava ... P.P.S.: complimenti per il nuovo look ;-)

L' ho talmente nel cuore e nell' anima questa Ciaccona che me la fischio spesso e volentieri anche quando vado all' Esselunga a fare la spesa. Cmq Chiara Massini a parte che ne è una splendida interprete, Bach è veramente una droga .... bravissima Chiara, ma veramente bravissima !!!!

Magico il lavoro di G. Leonhardt, magica l'interpretazione di Chiara. Credo che JSB in persona apprezzerebbe questa coraggiosa trascrizione, lui che era un mago in cose del genere. Bravo Gustav, bravissima Chiara!

Je viens de réécouter Chaconne, interprétée par Chiara Massini. J'avais une meilleure écoute et j'ai trouvé cela sublime ! Encore plus qu'hier. Il faut absolument prêter une attention soutenue au jeu des grands artistes comme Chiara Massini. Cette version est vraiment magnifique, je ne vais pourtant pas en rester là et pour parfaire mon émotion, je vais écouter Daniil Trifonov dans sa version pour main gauche, transcription de Brahms. Ces deux interprétations n'ont pas à rougir l'une de l'autre.

Bravissimo Chiara ! Une magnifique interprétation toute en douceur calme et sérénité, à l'opposé de bien d'autres pleines de violence, alors qu'il n'y a jamais de violence chez JS Bach.

É Chiara e fica tudo dito. Como sempre, clareza, rigor, sensibilidade e aquele toque especial que confere uma sonoridade muito própria. Adorei mais esta magnífica interpretação. Bravo!

I love the simplicity and clarity of this transcription. I wish there were more like it. The Busoni for the piano seems to have a bit too much imposed drama, the music is dramatic enough on its own. This performance is also sublime.

Sie haben eine wunderbare Vorstellung davon, wie Bach das "Contraponto" für diese Variationen komponieren würde. Das war, als er durch einen schönen Wald voller Blumen ging und plötzlich einen entdeckte, der noch nie zuvor gesehen wurde ... The sound of that harpsichord is incredible. For me 8:42 up to the recap in D minor is one of the most transcendent moments in all music.
