I think Maria Petra is a talent of the first order....fabulous singer and ultimate writer. I saw a smile from her at the end of this song and that was great to see. It hurts to watch her sing sometimes because she seems so sad. Maybe what churns inside her is what motivates her to write the lyrics that are so meaningful. Lonely. This is what they said after their performance: Host: So nice to see you again. This was so beautiful, so nice. How is it to be back? Jørgen: It's both strange and nice at the same time. Totally strange standing here, but very fun. Host: Very nice to see you, and Maria Petra, what is it really like to work together? Maria Petra: You know what, that's great. I feel that we have become both friends and colleagues and it is very pleasant. He is top! 10 out of 10 Jørgen: She is too Host: You are very nice together. Host: Espen and Ina look reasonably happy where they are sitting. What do you think of this The Voice band then? (For those who doesnt mnow, Espen was Maria Petra's mentor in 2021. When loves leaves.....how many people know that feeling!! This is a spectacular song and should be awarded accordingly. Hidden away here on KZread. I have never heard it played here in the US. All of the trash out there and this song doesn't get heard. I am not sure who wrote it but if Komponist means writer composer then it looks like Petra and Jorgen. It seems like something Petra would write. It has her insight and feeling about it.

This is from an interview they did be&ore this song was released and before this performance on The Voice: Jørgen Dahl Moe releases his very first duet with the artist and songwriter Maria Petra . On the duo's first of many days in the studio together, "When Love Leaves" was created. This is the first time either of them has released a song together with another artist. - "When Love Leaves" depicts two people who love eachother very much, but not enough to continue the relationship. Instead of thinking that it was someone's fault, one would rather remember what was nice. No matter how much it hurts, says Maria Petra. The theme of the song is something both artists recognize: - The context of the song and the music video is set in an apartment. Two people live there together, tight and close, but at the same time so far apart. It's an absolutely sick emotional contrast. When we moved in here it was a bright spot, now we have thrown away the key to a place that is now so dark. These are mine and Maria's similar events in life, put into a song, continues Jørgen. Both Jørgen and Maria have a background as The Voice participants, respectively in 2022 and 2021. Afterwards, both have used the time to build their own catalogue. Through the programme, they found a sense of security in each other, which Maria believes was the start of a deep friendship and professional collaboration: - When I saw Jørgen on The Voice, I thought I wanted to write with him. In the studio we found that we got along both musically and on a personal level, so it feels very natural to release the song together. It's strange to have to share a lot about love and grief with an unknown person, and then write about it, but I quickly noticed that Jørgen was someone I could actually talk to. Jørgen got a record deal with Universal Music when he won The Voice. Maria Petra released her single «Lonely» on her own label and I am not sure which label she is under now. She is part of Made Management which is one of Norway’s leading music managements and exporters of talent with big Norwegian artists like Aurora and Sigrid…..but to be honest they do a lousy job promoting Maria Petra to the international listeners. The same with Jørgen. I think Jørgen’s manager is one of his friends and maybe he should look for someone more experienced who would promote him internationally. These two could have had a way way bigger success if they had someone pushing them also outside of Norway (even inside of Norway they dont seem to get the attention they deserve). Their voices and music needs to be heard all over the world.
