It is very refreshing to see and hear JR speak on his newfound perspective on academics. I didn't know that Ray Allen inspired him to go back to school. Seeing JR now looks like he is enlightened more than ever. Beautiful story gents!

I commend you. I dropped out of school in the 9th grade and didn't return back to school until my late 40s. Like you I suffer from a learning disability . When I did return to school I was diagnosed with dyslexia and this took a weight off of my shoulders. Now I had a understanding of why I suffered academically. No longer was I stupid, dumb or just not trying hard enough, which many of the teachers insisted. I graduated from my community college and was accepted into the University of Santa Cruz where I earned my sociology degree in 2018 and now I'm currently working on my masters degree and will be graduating this November. It's never too late to get your education. Never give up on your dreams. Keep pushing Jr. Wishing you nothing but the best brother. Derrick Newton

I think the NBA should highlight JR more. What he is doing is challenging and amazing. I met him when I took my son back to school at A&T. Very humble and respectful guy. Nothing like he was portrayed to be in the NBA.

Man that’s just dope. I love how he was inspired by Ray. I love how Ray took the time to inspire him. I love how he expressed the fact that the world sees you one way based upon how you played basketball, and now he gets to express himself. I love how he got inspiration from the masses of his people showing love for one another. Good for him. Top to bottom. JR has his mind, body and soul in the right place. I’m far more a fan of JR the human, than Jr the player. And hey- my man could stone cold ball. Salute.

And people that are arrogant about educating himself. And after their millionaire career and lifestyle, they end up broke sooner than later. Either emotionally or financially -- usually both.
This is crazy. I’m 36 and about to go back to school after 15 years, nervous as hell wondering if i’m doing the right thing… I clicked this video thinking JR was just gonna shoot the sh* and not talk about anything of substance. He is really speaking from the heart and sharing profound experiences that are inspiring and motivating me to go back and finish the job. Salute ATS and JR

It was good to J. R. Again. Congrats to you on being a beacon to our young brothers and sisters . You've come a long way since episode #1. Continued success in all your endeavors. Great interview men. Keep Grinding !!! We will be watching !!!

Excellent content as always!!
I LOVE and really miss JR SMITH IN B-BALL! I WISH HIM NOTHIN BUT LOVE, LUCK AND RESPECT! LOVE YOU JR SWISH!!!!!❤❤❤💜🧡🤎💚💞💕💓💝
WOW! It just goes to show you that are doing a serious disservice to not only that person, but to yourself when you judge people based on some media reports or misunderstood behavior. It is good seeing and hearing the "enlightened " JR Smith! Continue your growth and be that example to not only your Daughter's but your Community! Thank you All the Smoke for sharing this interview! Mad Respect Mr. Smith!
This! This is what we should see more in this channel. Mad respect to JR, taking the path of education and personal growth. It did always show, his lack of intellect. But you can fix it. Everything is learnable. This is like seeing a fat-ass in gym. A herculean task and he is doing it! This is what a role model is for young black kids that struggle in schools. Just what Chuck has been preaching.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Can't wait to watch. Just had to comment before lol!
Love love LOVE this interview with J.R.! I was really hoping they would follow-up and talk to him about about this amazing journey he is n right now, at a HCBU (not HBU, as Stephen Jackson said 😅)! I would love to see them revisit sone of the guest they had on the early quarantine editions of the show because they kept the interviews short, hoping to get them in person so I would love to see that (like Prime, CP3, JR Rider, etc.) P.S.: I kept seeing that DraftKing ad during the show and kept thinking Matt looked sick in it and now, seeing that they shot it the same day as that episode, you can really tell he was sick, congested and probably running a fever. That boy is shining like he has been dipped in vaseline 😂
