I dont want to disparage any other knife: I love Hultafors, Mora and the Glock, and own them all. But the M95 is hands down the best low-to-midrange knife on the market. The knife and sheath are an overall excellent package, that delivers a robust carbon steel blade, suitable for all climates and conditions. Do not underestimate the sheath retention design. Its works in all conditions, and provides excellent security AND quick deployment. It is also very resistant to wear. Excellent observation on the misalignment of the scales btw. I noticed the same. It is a very annoying, and frankly, easily fixed, design flaw. Thanks for the video

Its one of my top favorite knife. To me the finger guard is just perfect. Cheers.

    J. P. didn't want a pronounced finger guard so you can use the blade for more utilitarian task and in different grips needed for such. Besides, with that rubber handle it helps to facilitate a stronger grip and I have tested it to see if I would slip up by stabbing a seasoned piece of oak in both a standard and reverse grip. I even went to the extreme and wet my hands as I live in a very humid climate, and still didn't lose traction on handle at all.

I get that but theres a reason why nearly every other succesful fighting knife has a guard. In ideal conditions when can pull those tests you described. Its when you are tired and/or fgihting for your life that the hand may slip.

Retired, former knife dealer, etc. I have 3 units. Not available on Amazon. It is a combat/utility knife. Of course I have an array of combat knives from Ek knives (when there was an Ek Company) to the modern Kizlyar line. One has sat near the computer since I acquired the first one. The way I describe the knife is a Mora knife, refined and designed for combat.

Sheat system is much better than that complicated strap system with you us knife. I dont understand what are you talking about that sheat sytem is not good enough? that is best there is. Good luck taking that strap sytem off when it can break, its dark you want to get it back or everything is frozen. There is just what knife should be durable simple and it will not break. Its not art piece its a tool and a weapon

There are stories from the winter war / ww2 where finnish soldiers took out whole sowjet machine gun teams with a pukko. Unfortunatly hard to find informations how they used the blades back then. The same goes for ww1 trenchknives. or even ww2 in general if we leave fairbarn-sykes out. A lot of misinformations out there (the german close combat clasp is a great example).

@@pouncepounce7417 Icepick grip and the cutting edge towards the ellbow? My test on a dead pig came to the conclusion that that`s the way to do it and not cutting edge away from me like one sees a of specially trained military guys do it on yt. Going for the throat is, in my pow the obvious part. Expecially in a military context where people wear load bearing equipment and winter clothes. Thanks for the answer and your time.

@@mrd7067 We went not that much into detail... The people i talked to did it not with taking out positions in mind but as terror weapon. Ususal they infiltrated in bigger number to take russian soldiers by surprise alive, cut there ears of and left them alive. Then the the nitty gritty detail of how much noise you want to make i guess, as i was told the ear cutting off thing was rather noisy. Another way was to pose dead soldiers in creative ways and let them freeze to create freeze frames in an more literal sense. If you talk with an ranger (it is not an official rank or role in the finnish force because it would be illegal) they have an extensive list of ways to bump you off in creative ways that make your comrades have thoughts about the wisedom of invading that small country, cut throats are i guess the least gory thing you have to worry about there..

@@bulllea That what you said here is sentry removal and apart from being pretty messy you don`t always get all the veins and arteries. Anyway that`s the easy thing. It becomes interesting once you get confronted by one or multible agressors who are aware that you are there and who are probably even hunting you. Why i`m interested in it ? Knowledge is power and blades are legal here. I know a thing or two about its use but am always intersted to hear/learn from others who know about this things (know and don`t just think thy know). Actually i have been confronted twice with knives in my life so far and got away without getting stabbed or cut (i`m the first to admit that i got very, very lucky). The first time in a school bus and for the second time i shoudln`t even have been there. As for arditi you mean the italian storm troops from ww1 ? One of my grandfathers was in the trenches and supposedly used a spade on others. but can`t ask for specifics there for obvious reasons. The prroblems with sources are often the lack of a common language, second hand sources and source criticism.

There is no traditional Nordic knife. Fins like a high primary bevel. Swedes and Norwegians, Scandinavian, like a very different low primary bevel. None traditionally use the BritishBlades "Scandi Grind." Instead, they traditionally like a secondary bevel - as with the rest of the World. These days, almost anything is called "Scandi," like the label" tactical" or "Wow!"
