J.ill The Podcast Episode 1 | Where Would We Go?

Музыка

Black people are escaping the U.S. to try to build a better life abroad. But is it worth it? Aja, Laiya, and Jill discuss where they would go if they left the U.S. -- if they would even leave in the first place. Plus, a conversation with educator and activist Dr. Yaba Blay.

Ladies I just discovered this Podcast today and am listening while "I work from home." The place you're trying to reach...happiness, contentment etc. etc. exists inside of you. Everybody arrives at that destination at different times in their life. The key is the "peace of mind" you spoke of earlier in this broadcast. Sooo I'm 60 and I got babies your age, but still if you just feel it...and take the focus off of finding it or arriving, you'll run in to it. There's a few more ways I'd express it, but I can't/won't in this forum. Love to you all and keep it going.

I've been heavily considering at least living part time in Ghana to get that relief. But I feel Aja on the blackety black cultural aspect which is also on my mind as I consider places. I'm a visual artist as well so I need the balance of peace and party, somewhere where I can produce and be fed culturally. I'm also a northeast coastal chick need a coastline wherever I'm is, inland does not work for me. I do love Toronto and Montreal also but I need real summers. One thing I know for sure is that this country has me mentally and emotionally exhausted. Dr Yaba Blay was PREACHING!!! talk that shit Doc!!!

Jill I do hear you! And I pray you can someday get what you want. But I have to say you are necessary for were we are now! Your voice, your spirit, your song has been the healing balm for our current trials and pain. It's your awareness of our pain that conflicts with your spirit and lightens your soul. And then you give us a song of healing. Your one of the lights in our dark tunnel. So thank you for being who you are and were you are, cause without you we would be even more hopeless. Your part truly matters my sister!

I'm an instant fan! Every topic you all spoke on I absolutely can relate to. From alternative living to looking for a new home on this planet. Radical transformation will require Financial Independence, which is something I'm working towards because of transforming my financial debt. Living in a world that is ruled by Toxic malignant narcissist, births the "Constant state of Fear." That poem was beautiful. Being okay with my fear, thanks for giving me permission, because I wouldn't name it. The fear would play out in my dreams. Lastly that anime character mentioned is one of my favs. And I will continue to pray for every woman, to manifest Wisdom, Courage, and Compassion in order to change the trajectory of our world. Enough is Enough!
