So 2 years is most likely talking about 2011 to 2012. In 2011, jhope had already started rapping and writing songs. One of the first BTS tracks ever made was by the rapline trio 'Satoori Rap' in 2011. That song wouldn't be possible without j-hope. But whenever the rapline trio went to perform in small venues, rm and suga would rap and jhope would dance. (There is video footage of this from 2011) Basically he was still honing his skills in 2011 even though he had already started writing lyrics for bts.
