"Neuron" actually is Jhope old dance team name, back in his hometown Gwangju, basically where everything started for him so it's very special!! He talks more about it and his roots on his docuseries too!! And I believe this Motion Picture doesn't have him exactly to signify and show all this meaning, like the kid being the "protagonist" of it and all!!

Hobi exudes so much love and purity (i don’t even know how to put it into words exactly) in writing his songs. I always think Namjoon is a poetic lyricist, so much depth and profound imagery but Hobi though not as flowery in words has always written and arranged his songs that go straight to the heart. The lyrics to Neuron and I Wonder gave me chills and tugged at my heartstrings. Then there are his Future, Safety Zone, Blue Side and Equal Sign. Same vibe, same feel. I don’t know…his songs (esp those outside of BTS) just wanna make me go wow and awwwww 😭🥰

Guys just want yall to know that rapline always writes their own raps. Jhope has always wrote his own lyrics!

"Especially if RM helped him write it." Okay so that was not it. j-hope is an incredibly complex songwriter. In fact he's THE guy for multi-layered, conceptual lyricism and themes. j-hope is responsible for some of BTS' most complex concepts. Whalien52 is a song he wrote and the metaphor there of being alienated like the 52 Hz whale is his idea. Ddaeng was his concept. RM came with the melody, Suga the beat, and "j-hope brought the word "Ddaeng'" which drove the concept and feel. j-hope is also responsible for the direction of Mic Drop and he also wrote Dis-Ease which compares the drill of the pandemic to the drill of over-work and uses the word "pyong" which means both disease and bottle (as in feeling bottled-in). Hope World is based on Joules Vernes 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and j-hope casts himself as Captain Nemo (the captain of the expedition). Hope World (the album) is the magnificent vessel (the Arronax) full of wonder and innovation that takes travelers (us) to the magical land of Hope World. We learn about HIS journey on this metaphorical "journey." He references this journey literally, figuratively, thematically, sonically (in Hope World you literally start the album by hearing the sound of the vessel being submerged underwater), and lyrically (he tells us what the story is in the first track and returns us home in with "Back to the Blue Side" in the final track). Jack in the Box is equally complex, where in Hope, after years of fulfilling the mission Pandora called him from his box for, returns to the box to find Jack, the personification of all the darker parts of himself he sloughed off and left in the box in order to be the beacon of Hope we know him as. Jack In The Box is a conversation between these two alters (Hope and Jack) about the nature of hope in the world, the nature of Hope in his own life, and his role as an agent of Hope. 1Verse, CNS, On The Street, the lyrics in his BTS songs are all full of symbolism and high-concept, multi-layered story-telling. And so much complexity too--translators always say he's the most difficult lyricist to translate for and doolset always includes paragraphs of explanation for some of his bars. Hope on the Street is similarly complex as he prepared a song and a theme to match specific dance styles and his connections to them. RM isn't credited anywhere on this album. Hoseok is a brilliant, complex lyricist. And if you don't get that by now, you're really missing out.

Jhope is also the genius behind the chorus of Blood Sweat and Tears. RM mentions it when he did a breakdown of Wings- how they were stuck and Hobi came to the rescue. Another gem that Hobi worked on is the iconic Dionysus. All members have complimented Hobi on what a masterpiece it is- also documented in one of their Bangtan Bombs. In the same live on Wings, RM talks about Hobi's ability to create great melodies and hooks.

It was disappointing to hear. I mean, I love RM's songwriting. But j-hope is known for his multiple layers of concept and meaning and for him to just casually assume that he must have had help to pick out a deeper meaning for "Neuron" was really dismissive of Hobi. Especially given the fact that Neuron has even more layers than they think as it's the name of Hoseok's Dance Crew that he got his start in. People are always thinking "RM & Yoongi are rappers/songwriters" and Hobi is the "happy dancer who raps." But j-hope's concept building is NEXT LEVEL. When are people going to just pay attention and stop with the narrow, Intro-video driven, characterizations of their writing styles. Sorry. Didn't mean to rant. Someone once said Hoseok makes music for smart people and I really think it's true because some ARMYs just don't get it. They read the translation and think that's all there is but I spend weeks with his songs every time he drops something because there's so much hidden in the bars. He deserves credit for that.

BTS all members are multitalented and they have ALL EACH AND EVERY SINGLE member have taken part in their own music. As much as an legendary dancer hobi is, the music he creates and his flow and lyrics are TOP OF THE GAME !!

Neuron is the name of his dance team back at his home town. Jhope won dancing competitions with them before he joined BTS.

Yoonmirae is iconic and it's so crazy that he did a song with her, her and her husband Tiger JK are big names on K hip-hop and they're considered Godparents of the K hip-hop!!! Namjoon has a song with them too, it's BuckBucku and it's amazing too but very rap based and hip-hop!!! Namjoon also did Timeless with Tiger JK and Gajah with Gaeko (the other featuring on NEURON)

Hope was actually a part of an underground dance group called NEURON, also known as the NEURON CREW formed in Gwangju, his hometown. He was the youngest member at that time, I believe. He was around 10-12 years old there, before he had auditioned for BTS. He was formally known as 'Smile Hoya' (which i think is soooo adorable!!!) amongst the underground dancers. He went on to win a lot of awards in competitions. The crew was inactive for a long time but then became active again in 2022. They kept on showing support to Hobi on numerous occasions and even did covers of his songs like Arson, on the street, MORE, etc. This was honestly such a perfect title track...love when artists are always grounded and true to their art, which you see with BTS all the time!!! Thank you for the reaction!! 💜💜

You should definitely listen to the album. The album is very good and J-hope sings in every song so you can hear his beautiful vocals.

I'm so proud of Hobi!!! All the tracks are so fire!!!! Neuron is song of the year!!!!

A little info about yoonmirae. She is probably the best female rapper in Korea. She is part of a hip hop group MFBTY (MY Fans are Better Than Yours) along with her very talented husband, Tiger JK (a good friend of RM) and rapper Bizzy. RM did a colab with them called Buckubucku. It's a really fun song and video, worth a watch, also a live performance from The Seoul Music Awards in 2016. You have actually seen a part of that in one of the documentaries. It is where RM comes from the audience and the rest of BTS see him and gather around hyping him up as he goes up to the stage. Just remembered that RM and SUGA and other rappers from other groups along with MFBTY did a really hyped performance at the 2015 Dream Concert. I would definitely recommend watching that for the fun of it.

Once again, hobi proves his level of artistry. His production is top-notch. Amazing vocals! Amazing songwriter, lyricst, and rapper! What can I say, he truly is an incredible artist. This is the level of craft I don't get to see with other artists in the Western industry. He puts so much of his heart into the songs. All of the tannies do. I miss them.

Kept wanting to get both the Prelude and Interlude before it even released. It didn't really work out the way I had planned, dang PayPal being a pain, but thats besides the point. But.....was able to get both yesterday!!!!!!!!! Had already listened to the album so many times. But of course I wanted the albums with the books of special interviews, etc.... And I love the photocards along with the tags and centerfold posters! Had to start reading as soon as I got it. Actually I'm almost done with both. And I think it is a must read along with the Docu-series, truly it is awesome💜💜💜

U.S. Army based here, I have both the Prelude and Interlude already!!!! They are amazing! I have been looking forward to this since he first teased it quite a while ago. And even though you may be correct, the fact that Jhope's new album has been at number , worldwide, even beating out "Cowboy Carter" by Beyonce, is no small feat. I mean, Jhope wanted us to enjoy this along with the Docu-Series, and I now that so many of us are definitely loving it!!! Episodes 1 and 2 are already out there. They are good. And Wow. You can see some great dancing. JHope started "On the Street" a long time ago. There are many videos of him dancing years ago and showing us his dance talent on KZread. I have seen them all. My fav. During the pandemic... he couldn't sleep so he went to the dance studio at Hybe and danced freestyle for over an hour. Actually he has several hour long dance freestyles. He danced to all his fav beats from his past. I swear JHope has no bones. His movement was completely fluid the whole time. Take some time and watch it. Anyway, Episode 1 he dances with his teacher, who taught him how to dance. And of course, so much more. Enjoy.

Hobi's HOTS is so HOT. Title track is so good but if you listen to the whole album all the songs are suitable to be the title track. And we all know how Neuron become his title track just like his team NEURON became his backbone of this long journey. All the songs are on another level and I really enjoyed the hob's version of on the street. it's really cool. Plus jk's collab and yunjis's collab is so cool too. We already know how beautiful is our HopeKook chemistry but I never knew about yunjin + hobi 's chemistry. Yunjin's voice blends so well with hobi's. Overall the whole album is a masterpiece. WE can listen to it on repeat. Plus the lyrics. I don't even have to say how beautiful and meaningful our hob's lyrics. And can you believe that he did all of those things before enlisting. He worked really hard. I love him so much.

Neuron is his underground dance team name. He was the youngest member of the team. I hope you guys check his documentary. He talks with Gaeko about their early days in the doc. It was so good. Thanks for the reaction. Neuron is my favorite song from the album. And second fav is I wonder. I hope you guys check out his whole album. His vocals in this album is amazing. He used his vocal ability in this album more than before. It was soo gooood.

As was explained Neuron is Jhopes old dance team....They have their own youtube and for Hobi's birthday they did dance to a compilation of his songs: On the Street, Daydream, Chicken Noodle Soup, Mama, and Equal Sign...If you look up Neuron 2024 Happy Birthday J-Hope you will find their channel and the video they did.

A few people mentioned there were things in there that appeared to allude to other members. Yes, the apple for Jimin, the bike messenger for Yoongi, the container for Joon, etc. I think it's a stretch but j-hope has incorporated the members in other songs like he had them all sing in Airplane and the boys often make sure they have groups of seven in their MVs (Yoongi's gang in Haegeum and Daechwita is seven counting him, e.g.). So it's definitely not BU related but as for the apple referencing Jimin, maybe.
