FastActionBlades i have very little formal training and sources like this are good to see form and stuff without having to go to the dojo! internets ftw lol. i have a playlist on my channel with a lot of these types of iaido demonstrations if you're interested

Proton1 I agree, kata while seemingly simple in the total movement hides enormous amounts of purpose and intention that is hard to appreciate if not under professional instruction. At the same time i believe in having the basic understanding in what kata are designed to accomplish, and by watching closely you can pick out many of the essential aspects of the forms and purpose for it being the way it is.

全日本剣道連盟（張富士夫会長、全剣連）の「居合道（いあいどう）」部門で、最上位の八段への昇段審査などの際、審査員に現金を渡して合格させてもらう不正が横行していたことが１６日、関係者への取材で分かった。受審者が払う現金は合計で数百万円に上ったケースもあるとみられる。現金を要求された男性が告発状を内閣府公益認定等委員会に提出、同委員会も事実関係の調査に乗り出した。スポーツ界で不祥事が相次ぐ中、伝統の武道でも不公正な慣行がまかり通っていた実態が明らかになった。
