To my generation to rap with someone meant to talk with them, not to lay down bars or beats or whatever the fuck you call it. So rap in this situation basically meant tell a story in talk form. It didn't need a beat behind it, Peter Wolf had his own beat. I guess you can call this Dadsplaining...
