That's actually Common's house. When Jay moved to LA in 2004, he was living there until he passed.

The source sounds like the vibes from The Silhouettes joint "Conversations." It sounds like Dilla sampled a single vibe note, programmed the melody, then played bass over it and hooked up some drums. Pete Rock used the full vibe line (1st bar of the song) for "#1 Soul Brother." The "Conversations with The Silhouettes" LP is must have material for record fiends.
