rnaefaletui that's why I'm subscribed to them. No one else really tries to breakdown the lyrics and truly listen. They don't go this deep into every song. They just try and feel the vibe and don't offer any unique take even if they don't like it.

I swear that Once An Addict was written about me. My mother was wrecked by a breakup with my dad. Tried to take her life on my 12th Birthday. Used to sleep in her bed every night to keep an eye on her. Afraid to play outside because she’d vomit in her sleep and I’d have to turn her on her side and clean her up. My All Green was The Five Heartbeats on a constant loop. This song choked me up. Couldn’t even help myself. Damn

I completely agree Once an Addict was one the realest songs almost felt my like my life's story. To me J.cole is like Tupac in away that you become emotionally connected to there music because you know comes from a place many can relate to. I think he's a great lyricist because he can get his point across without doing lyrical acrobatics on your head with just as much depth that's also why I hate when people say Pac not a lyricist but say he was a poet

George! I had the EXACT reaction to the last half of the album (I enjoyed the WHOLE thing). Cole is a LEGEND in my eyes. This album was a MASTERPIECE imo. 10/10 P.S. I don't know why, but the very first time i heard "Window Pain" I LITERALLY teared up listening to it....The way the drums hit in my headphones and the story of the little girl combined with the lyrics and flow. It was crazy.....I've gotten goosebumps from Cole before, but I never had that happen before. 😅

1985 aged like fine fine wine
You know, I was watching this reaction again (It's been like 3 times on certain parts now haha), but I JUST realized something. I don't think "1985" ONLY applies to the rap game. I think it applies to the reaction channels as well. Sooner or later all of these reaction channels that just focus on the vibe, rather than the content, are eventually going to be outgrown. Their viewers are going to get older and begin looking for more in depth commentary. THEN they'll come to this channel, but "to tell them what they should do, who the fuck am I?"

One of the reasons why someone told me they didn't like the album was because they said that J. Cole broke his own theme with songs like Photograh; mostly because of the name of the album. My response is always: No he didn't. The last line of the of KOD set it all up. The strongest drug to be addicted to is love. Whether it be the love of things like money and drugs, people like women, or abstracts like fame and temptation. It's why you love those things that should be important and why you should "Choose Wisely". Are you hiding from something? Depression, your environment, or your past perhaps? Idk I feel like Cole has ascended to Legendary status by this point, and as such the album is gonna be a Classic, at least in my book
once an addict is such a homer for me this shit is how i felt in high school dealing with my mom and no one can understand this shit but this song was a punch to my heart foreal

Yes you have my man! You always hold us down bro! Thank you!
4 years later… this album and he still evoke that same passion and enlightenment in me. I know y’all weren’t huge fans of KOD but that would be my only disagreement. When that song is on it still hits for me. But damn, J. Cole to me is severely underrated and undervalued in this age, when he speaks so authentically and genuinely. I’m sure that’s the reason he’s so conservative on what he puts out. He refuses to taint his name with trash. He has the platform and uses it for good.
best reaction video PERIOD.. of all time!!! lol for real though... great great job!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

You already know you have to smash that like button before you watch the vid.
You guys have enlightened me to an interesting fact: the best rap/hip-hop shares a LOT of similarity to the best of country music. Breathe...yes, I said that. Now, hear me out. It's about the story telling. It's about recognizing universal truths. It's about connecting and empathizing and relating. Great country songs tell a story, taking you through a slice of (often painful) life that makes you feel something. Great rap often leans into the same idea. The aesthetics surrounding the lyrics/stories are clearly different, but I really do think these two genres of music share a similar heart. And that's a beautiful thing, to me. We could all stand to relate more to one another these days.

papagriz33 I completely agree. I've thought them to be similar, myself. I love your explanation.

Although I think that the delivery of hip-hop is much more raw and honest, while country has this sugarcoated view. The lyrics are both story driven but hip-hop is relatable in it’s sound as well. I agree with you though :))

Great album, "Once an addict" hit me on a very personal level too. There were some specific things he said on that track that I've gone through, it made me tear up. This whole album makes me glad there's someone like Cole not just in hip hop but in the music industry who I feel is trying to bring everyone to the table to have a conversation about their personal problems and the problems going on in the world and, like you said, is straight forward with it. Beautiful stuff man. And another great reaction guys! I love it when George gets on that "y'all don't even know" mode and he's trying to pause the video so he can go crazy over the song but he looks like he's having trouble pausing it 🤣🤣🤣
First listen through I loved the album. Your guys’ review spoke my thoughts and feelings and invoked new thoughts and feelings for it and also heightened my appreciation for this album and Cole himself as an artist. I’m 20 years old and I’m thankful I listen to artists like Cole who push real, deep, content with their art. I could easily be like every other kid my age lost in trap music, drugs, trends, etc. Its albums like this (and as a nod to you guys also reviews on albums like this) that further open my eyes to more realizations in life itself and I’m thankful for that. That’s a powerful thing. Could even have more to say in this comment but overall just a good review of a good album and I’m thankful for finding your guys’ channel and subscribing. Much love, respect, and appreciation. 💯
By far the best review I have seen on KZread for this album. I normally don’t even comment on videos but I had to, you guys did an amazing job.

Yesss🎉 Cole came with the Fire 🔥 with this one. Hi guy’s 🙋🏿♀️ Ummm we need some Lost in Vegas merchandise 🤷🏾♀️ luv y’all!
Every review is fire!
I fucking love this, this is the greatest shit as always Although I'm a white boy from Denmark, J. Cole is by far the realest and best artist out there... I love the messages Cole gives, although I can't really relate, I still understand and can put myself in the "victims" shoes. Maybe I misunderstood, but I still feel Cole so much, although I can't relate to what he says - which still makes me appriciate him more than anyone else. So idk about what you said that we really can't appriciate him unless you're a "victim" Still love you guys
Came back for my monthly refresh of this beautiful reaction/review of one of my favorites album ever. You guys are great, thank you.
Damn never thought I would watch a 1hour album review
