Two years ago I found used IYV guitars in Ho Chi Minh city. Was traveling and couldn't buy them, but I played two and gave them a good going over. The build quality is excellent. Wasn't loving the bridges. Couldn't tell you about the electronics. The shop I was in had junk amps. I wonder what you'd pay for one configured how you like from within Vietnam. BTW - IYV's factory is near HCM City.

Headstock looks like a reverse Ibanez. Looks awesome! Need to hear the sound! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Man, you got it right with the IYV my concerns are Dude is that the more people that know about these guitars that eventually prices will go up on them. I was given one that was going to be thrown away. Only had one pick up that wasn’t functioning. So I have fully loaded it, but for a one piece Guitar this thing stays in tune just as well as my Gibson les paul After putting Grovers and Seymour Duncan, it’s a lightweight guitar extremely playable. Let’s just hope they don’t check the prices. Anyways thanks for your channel.

Back in 2020, when I finally bought my first guitar I bought it from Amazon and made sure to do a lot of research to find which sellers make great quality products at an affordable price and suitable for a beginner like myself. After your video where you announced that you ordered a custom build I shot them an email if they would make a neck only but they didn't respond. I checked at least 5 times if I sent it to the right adress but it wasn't my mistake. Maybe they just didn't notice but yeah. By the way your order looks absolutely stunning, happy shredding on it!

Okay, I’m super curious now what the price is compared to one of their normal production models, and what they did that was different from what you were expecting! I really love my IP-350 PRS clone, but I’ve sometimes wished I could get it in a different color and with 22 frets instead of 24, with concomitant LP-like placement of the pickups, but everything else the same, including the neck profile.

@@thebaldshredder WOW! I assume you still have to pay the $100+ shipping from Vietnam though, right? Even so, it sounds like it might be totally worth it if they can truly make a guitar to your specs, and I have no doubt that even with shipping from Vietnam, it’s probably still a whole lot cheaper than going to the Custom Shop or even the Mod Shop at Fender or Gibson! I’m also guessing IYV probably doesn’t have quite the same level of quality and craftsmanship you can get from a first-tier Custom Shop, but again, it’s SUPER hard to complain for the price, especially if they can offer 70-80% of the quality for even less than 50% of the cost!

@@sparxhbk Based on what they sell models shipped direct to consumers for on ebay you may be right. My thinking of was to add a little extra for the truly custom requests but it looks like IYV opted to build it with generosity in mind. I.E. it's better to add something to ensure a positive sale than to leave it out which may lead to a misunderstanding with the customer.

@@thebaldshredder My guess is that they’re probably Jin-Ho. I think that’s what IYV uses on their production guitars, anyway-that’s what I’ve seen on both of my IYVs.

iyv such a nice company i ordered a custom Tele and a strat and you can even buy single parts like bodies and stuff which is prettey cool. And the price is unbelivable i paid like 98 bucks for my custom strat and 200 for my tele highly recomend this company !

What was the easiest way to send them $$$ .... I emailed them and Richard Do sent me an email back saying either Western Union (money-pickup) or Bank Wire..thinking I should go to my bank and ask them about the fees to send the $$$ and guessing the Western Union (money-pickup) is the standard Western Union transaction..any help would be greatly appreciated.

@@rosskrause3926 Haven't personally tried yet, since I'm still just kind of browsing; not totally sure which guitar shop I'll end up with yet. But generally, TransferWise / 'Wise' is usually what I go for when doing international bank-to-bank transfers, and what I'd recommend unless you're doing tons of regular transactions. Usually much cheaper than WesternUnion, Moneygram, or, god forbid, actual BofA wire transfer fees, plus better exchange rates. I used them a fair bit to send money from my U.S. bank to my Sberbank account in Russia for my apartment rental [prior to the invasion of Ukraine], converting USD to RMB to send to my roommate's dad in China, and USD to LTL before Lithuania switched to the Euro.

I'm only 1 min and 30 secs. in, but yea man that thing is sick!!!

Buying an IYV can be a crapshoot like buying a Glarry. You're either going too get a good guitar or you're going too get a crap guitar especially if you order from Amazon .. My first IYV ( IPF-300 TSB ) was great right out of the box but after awhile it wouldn't hold tune (new tuners easy fix) then the D string (wrap around bridge) was getting a Sitar effect (New Musiclilly wrap around bridge wit adjustable saddles for intonation, $16 easy fix) .. My second IYV (IS-200 SB) also from Amazon had half a dozen dead frets they sent me another one Same problem then they sent me another one same problem and this is before I even sent the first & second back ... so I sent all 3 back for a refund

The finish you chose (and its look on camera) reminds me big time of the recent Inspred by Gibson Epiphone 59. This lefty got a Harley Benton SC450 Gold Top about 3 months ago. The "gold" looks like their 25th Anniversary Firemist- and that's not a good thing. I am hoping IYV can do me a proper one with P90s. Thanks for the great info!

If it's a bolt on neck, you can save like half the shipping cost by having them ship it with the neck off (smaller box). Then just grab a screw driver and put it on when you receive it. Very easy.

The bolt on neck for a custom lp style isn't my thing. I would have bought the equivalent of their ILS300 but with a gold top and P90s. The guitar price was a cool $145US or $195 CAD. The shipping was $169US or $227CAD, more than doubling the total and making me pass...for now. WHen I can afford to go all out, I think I will with jumbo stainless frets, locking tuners and an ebony fretboard with double diamond inlays. Le sigh.

I think they got a lot of emails yesterday so be a little bit patient. Usually it would take at least 24 hours because remember they are in opposite time zone than us. If you don't hear from them after another couple of days let me know and I will help you out. Sometimes they don't get the emails.
