I was thinking I'd put these pencils together with the pastels in a case. They're so subtle and go nicely with those. The more I use them the more I wish there were a few less gray-ish onces and maybe a few with more yellowy or peachy tones, to go with the wheatgrass, which I love!

Good idea to put them with the pastels. I do feel the wheatgrass is a bit an odd addition as it is a lovely warm colour an the rest are pretty cold. I am wondering whether they are planning a 'bright' tin next. They could certainly do with more reds and oranges (not so much yellows) and beiges! I have suggested it as they sent out a survey recently asking for improvement ideas!

I'm in the US, and postage wasn't any more than if they had been mailed from here, not overseas. Maybe there's a local Aussie hub for Castle Arts? Otherwise, take heart. Amazon will soon have the rights to them. I'm sorry you're having to wait. It's miserable not being able to get your hands on pencils you really want!

They are coming to Amazon at the end of month, not sure if that will make them cheaper to ship?

Castle have UK and US addresses so I assume they have warehouses in both places which could explain why the postage is reasonable in both countries. They have limited shipping to other places so even with the potential 20% discount that my affliate link provides (I think one use only though), it may still make the cost too high.

I couldn't help but be reminded of the Castle Arts Metallics set and how pretty some of those pencils would look with these purples you chose for this. While you're doing your color order chart for the soft touch, pastels, and harmonious; could you also slot in the metallics? I'm really interested to see this chart! These are sets I have, and I've got Castle's watercolor pencils coming with my harmonious ones. Hopefully Monday! I'm interested to see how well, if at all, the watercolors match the soft touch.

The chart is done! ko-fi.com/s/c80f5e7004 Slotting in metallics is a good idea, but just no room on the page!! After that big chart it will be a while before I do any more!

Hi Rachel……I’m glad you’ve done a video on colouring this book. I’ve had it for so long but haven’t had the courage to colour in it yet. I’m so out of practice, I haven’t coloured for years. Just also wanted to ask…..what do you put under the page you are colouring to protect the page from indents when colouring or colour transfer etc. Thank you.

I am glad the video is helpful. I use two sheets of copy paper. Usually ones where I have made a mistake printing on one side and i place them front to front so the printed parts are on the inside and the outside is blank. If I do not have any scrap paper like this I just use a plain piece of copy paper. Sometimes I use a plain laminate, especially if I am doing water colours or pens. For the larger Johanna Basford books I have a large roll of kids drawing paper and I snip a bit off that is the right length.
