Checked it out, and yes, you can certainly sense the similarities. Perhaps this composition was originally based on the song you are referring to.

Ok, this comment comes very late, but better late than never I guess. I think that Caddam Woods was based on this rather than the other way around. Heinrich Grossman recorded a song to called Oh Susanna back in 1907, and the melody of that song was very similar to this one, maybe even closer to Caddam Woods than this. Caddam Woods is attributed as either to Adam Rennie (1897-1960) or Adam Rennie and John Y Cameron. If Heinrich Grossman - Oh Susanna was based on Caddam Woods, Adam Rennie would have had to compose it when he was less than 13 years old and then get his work to be plagiarized by Heinrich Grossman, which is very unlikely since composers that young usually get their age written into their works as well. It is much more likely that it was Heinrich Grossman who first recorded Oh Susanna and then later Adam Rennie (with John Y Cameron or without) plagiarized it to get his/their Caddam Woods composed. (Note that this song only resembles the 2nd part of Caddam Woods, not the first one.)

I meant of course less than 11, not less than 13 since Adam Rennie was born 1897 and not in 1895.
