Listening to Yasser Seirawan soothes my soul. He is the Bob Ross of chess.

"Be very careful about inviting a tiger to dinner. The tiger may have YOU for dinner" Amazing game.
Yasser makes Chess understandable and interesting. Fabulous anecdotes and informative for chess player development.
That ending was painful to watch.....Chucky did everything to keep it together! But amazing win by Yusupov!! That mating pattern was a VERY pretty picture. >:)
*Lectures about chess games to know by heart* *Looks at moves in a book all the time* Nah, but in all seriousness I love Yasser and WHAT A GAME. "Just sleep, and then create something special if it's possible" - Ivanchuk
after watching this game i feel ashamed to see my own games even if they are wins. terrific game

They are just able to see 20 moves down the line that gives them confidence to just sacrifice in such manner. We would all get cold feet doing the same.
That game was amazing. Thank you for the analysis, Yasser!
What a great game. Thank you for this analysis and for posting this game.
Thank you for bringing Yasser back again
Yasssss! More Yasser commentary!
Thanks GM Yasser, 10x US World Champion.
What a beautiful video. Yasser is pure gold with his analysis and interesting stories and analogies.
You're always welcome Yasser!
I just saw 1 video and already Yasser Seirawan is a legend in my mind. The way he talks and is invested in the game and the way he pauses is like some cool eccentric movie character.
Splendid presentation. Thank you so much for sharing. This series adds so much value to the world of chess. Please include more Yusupov games, as he is a logical Super GM, who we can all learn a great deal from.
i think that even people who are not interested in chess could easily fall in love with Seirawan's lectures. He 's just great.
Happy be-lated Birthday, Yasser!
So the moral is never invite tigers for dinner because they have bad table manners.
I think your lectures are improving my chess ability. Not only that they're entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing

amazing lecture, seirawan is a great guy id love to meet him one day
The comments of Yasser makes everything brighter!
great game thank u Yassir
What a messy breathe-taking game wow 😲 i gotta swallow a headache pill afterwards :) Yasser you are a real mentor 🤙🏻
Absolutely stunning. Yusopov's Immortal for sure!!
That's one hell of a game...
Bravo Yasser!
Yasser could do a series of video analysis just on 25 Nce7+! alone. It's a shame Ivanchuk missed that. If you have Yasser's book Winning Chess Brilliancies, play over those variations after 25 Nce7+! - fun and instructive stuff. Yaz credits GMs Larry C and Willy Watson for helping him with the analysis. IIRC, the ICC lecture bot refuted some of that analysis but I doubt it's posted anywhere.
wut a beauty yasser is , ty for this
Yasser Seirawan is a very good chess lecturer.
Please make a legends video on Ivanchuk. He definitely deserves it.
A thing of fierce beauty

the game is nice too
I love this guy. Although sometimes I can't tell if he's going over a side line variation or the actual game. But I guess that's just part of his lecture style, to keep you guessing.
Dang, ya just gotta love Yaz.
wooooo....what a game........😯
great game and seirawan was right it was a real master piece.ivanchuk my have lost but I like his games more than other gm s who never take chances.
por favor, Yasser continua haciendo lecturas
nice seeing a picture of thom yorke playing chess in the back.
Would love to know Fischer's thoughts on this one.
Yasser - I am thoroughly enjoying your lectures - they are lengthy, but very detailed - a bit different than Mato Jelic or Rick from Chess to Impress - both great chess analysts, BTW.. I do hope you're in Madison, WI, next year for the 2018 US Chess Championship. I would love to say "hi". I intend on taking vacation days to watch those games.
7:13 it's like a tiger. 7:39 but be very very careful about inviting a tiger to dinner - the tiger may have you for dinner 37:39 the irony is, if you look a that very final position - the tiger on e3 - that was invited ... was forced by white [...] is still there. And he had white for dinner
amazing
I reached half of that vid and was still convinced that white is humiliating black .. just WOW that e3 pawn
Which program do they use to show the games and such?
What about, instead of Ne5, h3 followed by g5 and f5 giving up the exchange? So that the f8 knight cannot activate via g6?
Awesome
Can you guys go over Basman's Creepy-Crawly system please?
tonight i gonna be dreaming a tiger invited to dinner
Legendary game with legendary analysis People are posting Mr.Seirawan's lectures on ASMR sub on reddit lol
At the position with black to move that is being discussed at ~29:00, how about knight to f2, then next to h1, then to g3? After the first knight move, the rook on d1 has to move or be lost for the knight; if the rook moves, then when the knight moves to h1 the white bishop can't take it because mate would follow; when the black knight next moves to g3 white has to take the black knight with the f5 knight or it's mate, but then the black queen recaptures on g3 and I don't see how white staves off queen to f2 mate on the next move.
these two can play !
Woww! Yasser actually tricked me with that last Rb8+ when i was thinking to run away with king but the question never crossed my mind that that rook on b8 is hanging 😅
What application is Yasser using to play through games and track alternate lines?
32:39 i was thinking of a variation like Qg3 Kg1 Qf2+ Kh1 f3 ex3 e2 Re1 and Ne3 and if Bh3 Nd1..But I guess its unclear if black is better
28:49 Later (engine) analysis showed 27. ...Re6?= doesn't seem to work, white too can "rover" & take on e3, fe loses Q or something similar ...but Seirawan's joyful face: priceless !!
Good Video
can anyone clarify the Kg8 Kh8 controversy?
In the position at 17:18 Yasser suggests the move h5 for black, but what if white replies h4? Black doesn't seem able to respond with Nxh4 because it's met by Bf4 attacking the queen with then threats of Nce7+ after. Isn't the line he is proposing just refuted immediately after h4?
Looking forward to seeing Finegold videos. Didnt see a video of his for sometime. Miss them

nice
Just a fuckin amazing gamee!
yay.
Why is the title about a '91 game, yet the description says '93 game?... I have checked chessgames.com and it was indeed a '91 game.
15:13. can black play Rook e4?
It is a shame that chess engines are the bane of human analysis and the destroyer of human imagination. In the position at 18:02 Stockfish prefers the move played, Qh5, with +0.27 over the move suggested by Yassar, fg, with +0.17 after 34 ply of search. Of course Yassar can take on Stockfish with his assertion that fg is overwhelming. It would be wonderful for humanity if Yasser can prove that he is correct! However, if the total negation of humanity's mind by machines is not here yet that day is coming. Addendum: At ply 35, Qh5, +0.82, fg +0.00!
Computer shows plus 7 for white before he grabbed the wrong knight
Anyone's mum read them 'the tiger that came to tea,' before bed as a kid?
i doubt they were literally glued to their tvs. But I was not there.

19.42 cant white go g4 forking queen and bishop
The game www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1060180
28:42 isn't f3 playable? If 1. f3 exf3, 2. e2+ Ke1, 3. exd1Q+ Kxd1 and black has many threats.
@MrJespeer8

Usually when you mean moves with black you start with "...", so in this case 1. ...f3 However the white bishop on d6 targets the black queen on h2, so you'd lose your queen! 2. Bxh2
