Hi TORS1R ! Male UAENA here. I really like to song both musically and lyrically. I can relate to this MV quite a bit, since I had no living grandpas but four living grandmas (including the grand grand ones) and a bigger sister and so there where a lot of female role models around me and a lot of interaction that i witnessed, even today. And I am happy to be a part of my family with my wife, daughter and son where the generational aspect comes into play ;-) IU said in the behind the scenes vlog, that she hopes we would think of or be reminded of significant persons in our lives and feel the emotion connected to that person(s). This was what happened and happens to me when I see the MV or even just listen to this song. Thank you for your great and thoughtful reaction.

i also had that one friend who i feel the urge to compete with even in trivial things when i was child, at that time i didn't understand why, but now i think it's coz i like her and admiring her so much that i also want to behave or thought like her 😂

IU and her mother’s interview was so honest and relatable to me and I agree this is so true to many mother and daughter’s relationships. I had to deal with so many women’s jealousy especially at workplace. I still don’t understand why women are so jealous!

So, according to this Shh is divided into three parts 1) Mother. 2) childhood classmate, and 3) _____ remains unspoken and unexplained. That doesn't contradict my theory that Shh is the latest of IU's 'Sulli' series.

The body English was interesting. In years of watching IU interviews I've never seen her arms instinctively folded across her body defensively. You'll note that by the end her arms had finally dropped to a more relaxed position. Not entirely relaxed but more relaxed. About crying. IU says she doesn't cry. She mocks her friend Yoo In-na for cry so easily and marvels at performers who weep during a performance. Her go-to joke is miming stabbing herself in the eyeballs with her fingernails to elicit tears.

There is also some cultural context feeding into thought process made it distinctively Korean. When you consider the type of hyper competitive patriarchal society like SK where feminist strength seems rather hushed. This introspective sonnet on the strength the complication the bond among sorority of women in a hush tone called Shhh is rather witty, astute and fitting. Things people know but needn't be said.
