Who told you it isn’t about the charts? Every artist releases music hoping their fans will support them to the max. They don’t have to open their mouths to say they want to be on the charts first but as a fan it’s a thing of joy to see the artist you support reach that level. If you’re lazy or feel it’s unimportant to support an artists chart then say so but don’t be putting words in their mouths because they didn’t say they wanna chart and bcs you’re too lazy to support them.

V also said that he released his solo album with his own style even tho it's not danceable but he knows that ppl who appreciate music will appreciate definitely his style . He knew his songs are not the mainstream type of sound but he released it anyways because he was satisfied with it and represented him better than the danceable songs . But also yes them releasing things for the arts doesn't mean that fans must not support them as if V and IU are some Indie artists that's what u call laziness !
