a lot of asian parents pick their english name which is why it’s often a bit older names since the parents might pick from their favorite movie/actress/musician etc.!! sometimes the idols choose themselves though like in yuna’s case lmao i doubt her parents would have chosen hussey

Some of the "English" names were given idols because of their religion. For example Hwasa is a Catholic and her catholic name is Maria. My friend's name is Svetlana but her orthodox name is Olga. (Svetlana is a devil name in Orthodox). And as far as I know Felix was also a catholic, so "Felix" was his catholic name

In a lot of places people have English names even if they are not going to have contact with English-speaking people, especially if they are bilingual, it’s not about making it easy for Americans.
