0:55 - ITV News here were kicked out of their normal studio and were placed in the then full green screen studio set. The giveaway was the terrible angle of the camera at the opening here and the desk was different. This was to give ITV News time to re-jig their set, which would be launched with the atrium view of ITN in January 2006 as part of the ITV News overhaul.

Yeah, one of the final promos to air on the network before the 2006 rebrand was a promo for a show called Make Me Perfect (a show from the short-lived ITV Day time block). Following the '06 rebrand, ITV discontinued the time block. lol

@@dannystavs2003 Interesting. Though wasn’t the ‘itv’ logo of 2013 suppose to turn different colours for different programming and/or moods? I wonder how this new set will work?

1:25 - It seems the closing title sequence was pre-recorded, as we see the newsreader here writing something on her sheets, but when it cuts to the high shot, we see her not writing and her right arm rest on the news desk.

@@peterwilliamskelhorn6675 ITV News since 1994 had been pre-recording their opening sequences for some news bulletins. It still happens today. The opening to the News at Ten from 1992 to around 1995 was always pre-recorded, as it involved a pan shot of the news studio before the newsreader started. Once they ditched the pan shot, the opening was usually done live. Even today ITV News pre-records some openings, especially for the Evening News and News at Ten. It used to be the way that it was seen as a scandal to record a news bulletin. Today it happens all the time and no one cares. ITV News London at 6pm is around 50% pre-recorded at 5.30pm so to give the Evening News team time to come into the studio at 6.15pm and prepare for the 6.30pm bulletin.

@@peterwilliamskelhorn6675 Other regions have pre-recorded news. Tyne Tees and Border, Meridian region, West and South West. They share one studio and presenters, so at 6pm one has to be pre-recorded, the other is live.

Luckily the emotion idents weren't meant to stay anyway as in 2005 there was a spotting of the later idents used untill 2013 being filmed
This was five months before I was born
I don't understand why they changed the 2004-06 ident package- I personally thought that the emotion idents were a bit lacklustre and the logo was like something from the 1990's- these idents look all right to me :) xxx

I prefer these logos to the current one. The 2006 logo looked like it was actually a major channel, whearas the current one looks too much like a reality show channel (channels like TLC and ITVBe.) and looks terrible on ITV4 & ITV News.

If you compare it to the 2006 logo it got rather ugly and dated rather quickly.
