As a severely disabled person, I totally support jokes about us. It makes me feel normal. Nothing I hate more than people using us as tools for their activism and virtue signaling. The second someone says you can't make a joke about me or my condition, that makes me feel different. That makes me feel weird. I need to laugh.

YES to this entire thread. How can John Cena NOT be a wish/Aspiration/Goal. This is a man who has taken almost every opportunity that WWE has offered, INCLUDING schooling and Language Training, and made the most out of it! He has been learning Mandarin, as a full grown adult which is exceedingly difficult, because the WWE paid for it through their education program. How do you NOT look up to a man who breaks boundaries and actively gives you inspiration to break your own boundaries in a way that actually seems feasible?

I have a disabled son. Hes autistic. Shane made a joke about how kids with down syndrome are like dogs, but kids with autism are more like cats because its hard to tell if they like you or not, and it was on point 😂

I know I can’t speak for the DS community, but I also have autism, and I love seeing jokes about us. Makes it feel not so taboo to talk about it. Anyone offended by anything Shane has ever said needs to learn what comedy is. You don’t complain that the fire fighters get your house wet, so why should you complain when a comedian says something shocking? It is literally their job.

My sister has severe Cerebral Palsy, and I have been a volunteer for the Special Olympics for 20+ years. Everything Shane said is full on truth. The best volunteers are of course those who have personal experience with the litany of disabilities that the athletes are unfortunately afflicted with. It is VERY funny at times, but the athletes are having a blast and it is just so incredibly wholesome. They are just so happy to be there. We are laughing WITH them 99% of the time, but you're too uptight if you can't laugh at some of the absurdity! EVERYONE should be having fun at the Special Olympics. Its a beautiful thing.
