Love this tutorial. Had major rattling from the waterfall after dealer replaced the shifter knob. This tutorial helped me take it apart and keep me sane with the comments about trusting the plastic and it only being real if it makes a bunch of cracking noises taking it apart. Thank you!

Original xc60 panel has also torx on center both sides and they are located behind the temperature adjustment knobs, your video they were already take out... so watch out guys, total 8x torx need to remove before front metal panel can remove!

You are right there were 8 screws I almost broke my panel..2 screws behind knobs.

Are these units plug and play or do they have to be programmed by the dealer if purchased used? i have an 'Volvo v70, 2012. Around a year ago the radio and infotainment system started to fail. and wondering if the problem is the ICM unit? . I was recently given the car and I have started to diagnose and try to fix this issue. The symptoms of this issue are the screen for the infotainment system not working but its turn on and hanging on and on, all of the lower lights and buttons work such as the heated seats and or the defroster and fan control. They all work . Up till this point when I turned the car on I would receive no light from the screen and none of the audio buttons such as FM, AM, and or volume not either, about 6 mounts ago the rear park sensor failed to show on screen. grateful for every answers

My volvo S60 2013 D3 Excel has given me a notice on the screen "gear selector service required". Do I need to remove the whole console in order to fix it or I just need to replace the gear selector?

The message only popped up once and the gear selector is so hard to move.

Mine has more screws than that are shown. Do you have instructions?

If U have an xc60 built in 2009, can U Install a modern DIN Radio Like from Sony for example? With Touchscreen and Bluetooth an erverything of course. Thanks

I need to remove - SRS MODULE - and I don't see any screws - 4 pieces you said in armrest storage - can u do new video - to see these screw or if I don't see it - how to find them - my Volvo is 2015 thank you for these useful video

in the 09 there is a plastic/rubber cover in the bottom that you have to lift up to see the screws

Can we get to the SRS by removing the two torx holding the front edge of the armrest box (and any others on the floor of the box)?

doing this can be dangerous in cold weather...parts get really brittle good luck

Can you tell why glove box is not moving out, even all screws removed?

The buttons on my volvo panel are chipped and I have a new panel from eBay - will I trip radio security or have a programming issue if I replace this panel in a 2015.5 XC60 or can I just plug the new panel and mount it to the center console in place of the old one?

If you match it to the same year apparently you won’t need to reprogram it.

nope but it will make it easier to remove the front two torx screws. There is enough clearance if you carefully pry up the front section so you can access the two screws. I just removed my center arm rest/storage but I had to cut a few wires because the connectors were impossible to remove. I think the only way to remove the arm rest/storage big and cupholder without cutting wires is to split the unit open by removing the section toward the back. I had already removed the torx screws holding everything in place and I could not get the unit split so I cut a few wires. The xc60 is a bit frustrating to work on.

So center box can be removed by lifting the rear portion of the center console cover (presumably with the removal of the two torx underneath? Need to remove the SRS controller under the center console box.

Help!!! I have done this but my vehicle is slightly different (2011 xc60 - gear shift is different) all of the procedures I have done as per the video (same parts) yet my waterfall panel will not move. There is some kind of connection around the gear shift. It won't budge. Any idea what to do?

Your not showing how to access removal of screws with long extension....its completely off screen ...you need to edit your video to include that visual
